When Katie Rose Fusco set out to reconnect with her biological parents, Steven and Alyssa Pladl, she was looking for answers about where she came from. What followed was a family reunion that crossed boundaries no one could have imagined—and set off a chain of events involving obsession, betrayal, a shocking relationship, and devastating consequences. In 2006, Susan came home from work to her Portland, Oregon home and found a stranger waiting inside. What happened next was a fight for survival — and Susan quickly proved this man had picked the WRONG damn woman. But surviving the attack was only the beginning. Police identified the intruder as Edward Haffey, and the investigation led them somewhere much closer to Susan than anyone expected: her estranged husband, Michael Kuhnhausen. This case has an attempted murder-for-hire plot, a husband with a truly terrible plan, one seriously underestimated woman, and a survivor who absolutely refused to go down without a fight.
