The Importance Of Having A Mentor Early In Life (ft. Monica Huynh)

Do you remember having a positive role model in your life when you were younger? Do you think they played a part in shaping who you are today?  The peer associations we have when we are young definitely have some correlation to how we treat others in the future. The relationship dynamics we form in adulthood can be a linked to the types of relationships we had as a child.  Therefore, having a positive and compassionate mentor early in life who shows up and demonstrates healthy decision making whilst also being kind and relatable, can make a big difference to a young person.  My journey with Raise Foundation as a Youth Mentor has been an unforgettable experience that has deepened my passion with helping youth at risk. Raise Foundation is a non for profit organisation with a primary goal of educating young people to realise their potential. The Youth Mentoring program that Raise offers has provided young teens with a safe space to be able to open up and share with their mentors personal issues that they face each day. The program is truly life changing and offers teens with coping strategies and ways that they can deal with their emotions in a healthy way. A link to their website is listed down below: https://raise.org.au/ For today’s guest interview I sat down with another mentor from the program and we had a conversation about why it is so important to have a positive mentor early in life.  Monicas’s socials will be listed below: Facebook: Monica Huynh Other links: The 4 attachment styles https://www.attachmentproject.com/blog/four-attachment-styles/
