Dark Tales from the Road Podcast

I stumbled on this podcast recently, and am so glad I did. Such a great host, and love the way she presents it.

I recently came across this podcast about Annie Cook, I have always had a big fascination with her story especially being born and raised in North Platte Nebraska. I was very disappointed very quickly into the episode because of the hosts lack of research and originality put into this episode. This is a truly insane story and there were so many important details about victims, events, and the town its self that were not included. But hopefully the host starts getting better!

I don’t leave many reviews but this story has had me hooked since reading the book a few years ago. I just happened to come across this podcast earlier today when looking up Anne Cook. I think maybe it was because this was one of her earlier podcasts was part of the reason the format was so bad. I hope anyway. The history was not necessary if you’re going go to only be do ling a 30 minute podcast. Especially with all the information this story has. MULTIPLE deaths. Corruption. Abuse on so many levels and to children, women and men, including her own child and husband. Then there were a couple of random places here she breaks script and talks about things going on in her situation/setting. She also didn’t research the material well enough to talk about it with any certainty. I do very much like her voice and hope she gets better as time goes along. This was unfortunately not a story for one to try and recap in a super small time frame and so haphazardly.
