Episode 244: Learning to Fall in Love - Resolution

Resolution | Catching the Little Foxes in Your Relationship What does it look like to resolve problems in a relationship in a way that honors God? In Song of Solomon 2:10–16, we see the beautiful picture of a couple enjoying the springtime of love. But in the middle of that affection comes an important warning: “Catch us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards.”The fruit of their love is threatened by seemingly small things that can have a devastating impact. In this message, we explore Resolution—the fourth component of a healthy, Christ-centered relationship. Just as a couple must learn to identify and deal with the “little foxes” that threaten the fruit of their relationship, believers must learn to walk in the light, confess sin, receive the washing of God’s Word, and remain on the path He has given us. We look at the difference between confession and repentance, the biblical call to confess our trespasses to one another, and the importance of praying for and restoring one another in humility and gentleness. We also consider what this looks like practically in courtship and marriage: addressing red flags rather than ignoring them, having important conversations about money, family, and the future, and remembering that your husband or wife is not the enemy. You are teammates, called to catch the foxes together. The “little foxes” of Song of Solomon 2 Why small issues can destroy the fruit of love Walking in the light and confessing our sins The difference between repentance and confession The power of God’s Word to transform us Confessing trespasses and seeking accountability Prayer, restoration, and the law of love The redemption and example of Ruth and Boaz Identifying and addressing red flags in relationships Resolving issues together instead of fighting each other Building a relationship centered on Christ and His Word Key Scriptures:Song of Solomon 2:10–161 John 1:5–10James 1:12–25James 5:16–20Galatians 6:2Ruth 3 If we take our relationship with the Lord seriously, we must seek His light, dwell in it, and continually wash ourselves in His Word. And if we take our relationships seriously, we must be willing to resolve the things that threaten their fruit.

Episode 243: Bible History - Abraham to Moses

Genesis 12–50 Overview | From Abraham to Joseph How does God take one man and build a family that will become a nation? Genesis 12–50 follows the remarkable story of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph and shows how God faithfully carries out His promises from one generation to the next. The story begins with Abraham, whom God calls to leave his homeland and promises to make into a great nation. We follow Abraham's journey of faith, including God's covenant with him and the birth of Isaac, the promised son. Isaac's story leads to Jacob, whose twelve sons become the fathers of the twelve tribes of Israel. Jacob's life is marked by conflict, deception, family struggles, and ultimately God's continued faithfulness to His promises. The final portion of Genesis focuses on Joseph, who is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers but rises to a position of power in Egypt. Through Joseph, God preserves Jacob's family during a devastating famine and brings them into Egypt. The section concludes with Joseph's death, but the story is far from over. God's promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are still unfolding, setting the stage for the book of Exodus and the formation of the nation of Israel.
