S6 EP #3 | Leasing in the Age of AI

In this episode of SARE Ladies, Anita and Ashley sit down with Connie Lee, CEO of Reffie, to unpack a hard truth: leasing isn’t broken because of traffic — it’s broken because of psychology, discipline, and misplaced tech optimism. Connie shares what she saw inside the leasing system that made her realize the problem runs deeper than most operators admit. From the emotional limbo tenants experience between a tour and an application, to why “very interested” leads disappear, we explore how uncertainty quietly kills momentum — and how lack of follow-up discipline compounds it. Then we tackle AI head-on. If PropTech has been “revolutionizing” leasing for a decade, why are vacancy rates still messy? Why are renters still texting friends at 11 PM because a chatbot couldn’t answer a basic floor plan question? Is AI improving conversion — or just increasing activity? This conversation cuts through the hype and focuses on what actually moves occupancy in 2026: clarity, speed, and disciplined follow-through. We close with one uncomfortable truth every operator needs to hear about leasing this year. If you care about occupancy, morale, and building systems that convert — this episode is for you. S6 EP #2 | A Special Announcement…

In this special announcement episode, Ashley shares a deeply personal update about her IVF journey and what led her to take this life-changing step. Joined by Anita, the conversation takes listeners behind the scenes of the decision-making process, the emotional highs and lows, and the realities that many don’t openly talk about. Ashley reflects on where she was in life when she chose to begin IVF, what parts of the process were harder (and easier) than expected, and the financial considerations that often catch families off guard. She also opens up about how IVF intersected with work, ambition, and her sense of control—and what support looks like for her in this season. This episode is an honest, vulnerable conversation about fertility, resilience, partnership, and navigating big life decisions while balancing career and identity. Whether you're considering IVF, supporting someone who is, or simply want a real conversation about modern motherhood and ambition, this episode is for you. While we aim to provide a helpful overview of the IVF process, please note that some terminology used in this episode may not align perfectly with formal clinical definitions. We encourage you to use this discussion as a starting point and conduct your own research or consult with a medical professional to ensure a precise understanding of these complex procedures. S6 EP #1 | What You Need to Know About Bilt 2.0

Welcome back to the SARE Ladies Podcast: Season 6 is officially live, and we’re kicking it off with an EMERGENCY SESSION because the Bilt 2.0 transition has the points world in absolute chaos. We’re your hosts, Anita Wong (multifamily investor, new mom of two) and Ashley Cao (commercial mortgage lender, investor, recovering tech employee), and today we’re getting into the real story behind the Bilt “drama.” To help us make sense of it all, we brought back one of our most-loved guests: Katherine Fan, a personal finance and travel writer whose work has appeared in NerdWallet and The Points Guy. Together, we break down Bilt in plain English: what it is, why it matters specifically for real estate investors, and what the current Bilt 2.0 offering actually looks like (beyond the headlines and hot takes). Then we get practical: what are the real risks for consumers, and is Bilt still worth it if you only have one rent or mortgage payment? You’ll leave with clear takeaways, a smarter way to evaluate the hype, and a next-step checklist for deciding if Bilt 2.0 belongs in your points strategy, or if it’s a “hard pass” for your situation. Plus, Katherine shares what she’s building next for investor travelers and how to keep up with her work. Katherine Fan is a personal finance and travel journalist who's published more than 2,000 articles for media sites like Nerdwallet, The Points Guy, and Business Insider. She's also a real estate investor with six doors in central Texas, and specializes in helping small business owners maximize their credit card rewards from business-related expenses. Before transitioning to the media industry, Katherine worked in tech as a software sales account executive. Although Katherine primarily splits time between Austin and New York City, she spent her teens in Taiwan and considers Taipei her third home.  Links: Previous Episode with Katherine Fan: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6HOJfsiIl3G726fFK9mAZb?si=eff188f99ec941eb Bilt Card Calculator: https://nextcard.com/tools/bilt-calculator How to find Katherine: Instagram: @katherinefangirling Disclosure: Legal Disclosure for the SARE Ladies Podcast. S5 EP #12 Year End Recap

Season 5 of SARE Ladies was about more than deals, capital, or strategy — it was about growth, responsibility, and becoming more intentional with how we build. In this final episode, we take time to reflect on what this past year has taught us — the wins we’re proud of, the lessons that stayed with us longer than expected, and the moments that challenged how we think about leadership, money, and legacy. We talk candidly about what podcasting has revealed, what it really takes to build community in this space, and the mistakes we see people make when they try to grow something meaningful — including our own. We also share the blind spots we’re still working through and how self-awareness has become just as important as ambition. As we look ahead, we explore what’s next for SARE Ladies, the conversations we’re excited to bring forward, and how we’re rethinking 2026 — not just in terms of goals, but in how we want to live, work, and show up. This episode is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and move forward with clarity — grounded in purpose, community, and intention. If you’ve been with us this season, thank you for growing alongside us. Disclosure: Legal Disclosure for the SARE Ladies Podcast.
