The Blue Collar Bible Guy Podcast

Mike Faulkner

This podcast is to encourage regular working class Christians as they live out their life of faith on their job and in the world. Too often blue collar workers are disregarded by church leaders just as in society as a whole. I want the regular working Christian to see their value in the kingdom as the primary source of reaching other with the gospel out in the real world. While the high ranking theologians of our day are in academic halls discussing things and developing strategies to grow Blue Collar Christians are putting their hand to the gospel plow planting for the spiritual harvest!

Job Part 1: The Man Who Wouldn’t Let Go | Days 136–147

What do you do when everything falls apart at once — and everyone around you is convinced it’s your own fault? In this first of two episodes on the book of Job (Days 136–147), we cover one of the hardest and most honest books in the entire Bible. Job is a man described by God Himself as blameless and upright — and he loses everything. His wealth, his children, his health. All of it, gone. And then his friends show up. We dig into Job’s integrity — his refusal to curse God or confess to sins he didn’t commit, even under pressure from the people closest to him. We look at the three friends who had good intentions and terrible theology, and what it looks like when someone dresses up bad counsel in religious language. And we sit with Job in the dark, where the answers don’t come and the silence is loud. If you’ve ever suffered without a reason, watched someone else suffer and didn’t know what to say, or held on to your integrity when everyone around you said to let it go — this episode is for you. Key topics: book of Job summary, suffering and faith, why do bad things happen to good people, Christian podcast for men, integrity under pressure, bad advice, blue collar faith, Bible in a year, trusting God in the dark. Esther: God Is in the Room | Days 132–135

What do you do when you’re the only one in the room who won’t bow? And what do you do when speaking up might cost you everything? In this episode of the Blue Collar Bible Guy Podcast, we cover the entire book of Esther (Days 132–135) — a book that never once mentions the name of God, but is saturated with His fingerprints from the first page to the last. Mordecai refused to bow to Haman when everyone around him did. Not out of arrogance — out of conviction. And that one act of faithfulness set in motion a chain of events that saved an entire people. Esther, living in the most powerful palace in the world, had to decide whether her position was a privilege to protect or a platform to use. And a sleepless king, a forgotten record book, and the right question asked at the right moment — none of it is coincidence. We connect Esther to working life: what it looks like to hold your convictions when the pressure to compromise is daily, how God moves through ordinary circumstances when He’s not loudly announcing it, and what it means to recognize that where you are right now might not be an accident. Key topics: book of Esther summary, God’s providence, holding convictions under pressure, Christian podcast for men, faith at work, courage to speak up, Mordecai and Esther, Bible in a year, blue collar faith. Nehemiah: Stay on the Wall - Days 129–131

Episode Description: What do you do when the job is half done, the enemy is circling, and the people on your own crew are ready to quit? In this episode of the Blue Collar Bible Guy Podcast, we cover the entire book of Nehemiah (Days 129–131) — one of the most practical leadership books in the entire Bible. Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king of Persia. Not a general. Not a builder. Just a man who heard a hard report about his people, felt the weight of it, and then got up and did something about it — against mockery, threats, political sabotage, discouragement from inside his own crew, and enemies who wanted to pull him away from the work with a fake meeting. We connect Nehemiah’s story to everyday working life: what it looks like to assess a job honestly before you open your mouth, how to lead when the pressure is coming from inside and outside at the same time, and what it means to stay focused on the work when people keep trying to pull you down from the wall. Key topics: leadership under pressure, perseverance in faith, spiritual warfare, prayer in the workplace, integrity at work, Bible study for working men, book of Nehemiah summary, Christian podcast for blue collar workers.
