Founded by his father in 1996, today Jinshi is the largest manufacturer of core drilling tools in China. With the experience he accumulated while living and studying in Canada, Boyuan has since helped spearhead Jinshi’s expansion abroad.Over the last years, several international branches of the company were established in South America and Asia, further strengthening their position among suppliers from China. In China, Jinshi Drilltech is a full drilling solutions provider and a domestic industry leader. And in his current role as Managing Director, Boyuan is aiming to build the Jinshi brand abroad—by leaning on the quality of their products, refined in real operations, and combining their local presence and logistics experience.

    Episode 5: Exclusive interview with Harvey Tremblay

    Harvey Tremblay started his career doing carpentry. He then climbed his way up from service work at drill sites, to exploration services, to working as both a driller and a foreman. He bought an off-the-shelf JKS-300 drill rig from his old boss and launched Hy-Tech Drilling from his home in 1991. After a couple of small jobs, Harvey landed what turned out to be a nine-year contract. Over the next 30 years and countless completed projects, the company grew to a fleet of 75 drill rigs and 500 employees, operating throughout Canada, the US, Europe, and South America. Nowadays, Harvey is the Chairman of Hy-Tech and in the past has served as Director of both the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association and the Association for Mineral Exploration in British Columbia.

    Episode 4: 21 Questions: An exclusive interview with Sarp Ayken

    Sarp Ayken was born in 1977 in Izmir, Turkey. He entered the Geological Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University in 1995. After graduation, he started working as a Site Engineer at Ortadoğu Sondaj (Ortadoğu) in March 2001. He has been with the company ever since. In these 20 years, Sarp has been involved in many domestic and international projects as an engineer and later as a manager. He has extensive experience working on projects in his home country of Turkey, in Italy, Iran and Pakistan. Sarp is a member of the Chamber of Geological Engineers of Turkey and the Turkish Association of Economic Geologists. He also is a frequent speaker on Diamond Drilling subjects such as: Slim Hole Drilling Technology, Fluid Mechanics and Drill Mud, and Maximizing Core Recovery at international events. He holds multiple prestigious certifications. Nowadays, with Sarp in the leadership of Ortadoğu Sondaj, the company has become the largest contractor in Turkey and one of the largest in the region with their own drilling rig and equipment manufacturing facility.

Mario moved up the ranks as driller’s helper, driller, foreman, general manager and finally as owner and president.
