    In this episode I’m interviewing another amazing GameChanger: John Follis. It's so great to talk to a fellow Marketeer about the craft (because that's what's Marketing is!), his experiences in NYC and his current contribution to the world. Anyone who’s worked on Mad Ave a week has a story. John spent 3 decades there — first, getting fired. Then, getting famous. His agency, Follis DeVito Verdi, was one of New York’s most awarded. John also has the unique honor of being acknowledged at both The White House and The UN for his effective public service work. He’s also been fired 4 times and been told he has no talent. John: "I began on Madison Ave with the top agencies in the US on accounts like VW, Pizza Hut and Coke. That led to the co-founding of my own agency, Follis&Verdi, which became one of the most awarded creative agencies in the country. As the media and marketing landscape changed, so did my business.     #18 (IN DUTCH) Speciaal interview met mijn opa (90) - een echte GameChanger net na de oorlog in de klompenfabriek, waar zijn innovaties voor revoluties zorgden!

    In deze bijzondere aflevering interview ik mijn opa van 90, een echte GameChanger die net na de Tweede Wereldoorlog voor veel innovaties heeft gezorgd bij, wat uitgroeide tot, de grootste klompenfabriek van Nederland, het huidige Gevavi.    Zet de NL ondertiteling aan voor extra ondersteuning mocht het dialect teveel worden ;)   Met zijn ideeën heeft hij veel nieuwe dingen bedacht zoals de stempel voor de figuren op de klompen zoals we ze nu kennen, het ontwikkelen van een methode om beschadigde klompen toch te kunnen verkopen en het samenvoegen van twee afval materialen waardoor een nieuwe lijm ontstond (circulair!).   Zo op het oog lijken deze zaken nu heel vanzelfsprekend, maar in die tijd, midden jaren 50, zorgden deze innovaties voor een revolutie in de Nederlandse klompenindustrie en tot op de dag van vandaag worden ze gebruikt in de processen en productie. Door zijn werk en ideeën, werden niet alleen processen versneld, maar er werden ook volledige werkzaamheden geautomatiseerd. Hierdoor werd enorm bezuinigd op materiaal- en personele kosten, werd de verkoop en productie verhoogd en hierdoor dus significant meer omzet gedraaid in een booming markt: heel Nederland liep op dat moment op klompen.    Zijn verhaal wilde ik altijd al een keer vastleggen. Het is zo inspirerend om te horen hoe hij dat vroeger heeft gedaan en ervaren en ook pijnlijk omdat hij nooit echt de erkenning heeft gekregen voor zijn werk. Dat ligt ook deels aan hemzelf en hier heeft hij tot op de dag van vandaag nog wel eens moeite mee: was hij maar meer voor zichzelf opgekomen. Had hij maar het lef gehad om écht voor zichzelf te beginnen. Maar dat kon niet in die jaren en vooral niet met 4 jonge kinderen.    We spreken kort over zijn leven in de oorlog (en hier gaan we nog een keer een aparte aflevering voor opnemen), zijn gezin van herkomst en natuurlijk over zijn werk in de klompenfabriek. Hij heeft nooit de kans gekregen op onderwijs, want zijn 4 volledig dove broers/zusjes moesten een vak leren en hierdoor was er voor de andere 10(!) kinderen geen geld voor scholing.    Toch heeft een echte GameChanger zijn talent niet op school geleerd, het zit in je.   En het gaat er ook nooit meer uit.     #17 GameChanging Guests: Loïs Hollis - Changing the Game of Shame Guilt after her Near Dead Experience at 55, all due to an extremely abusive childhood

    In this episode I'm interviewing the amazing Loïs Hollis (78!) who is determined to teach us about the Shame Guilt energy and how to get rid of it. Every person fills in a selection form upfront to identify if we are the right fit to do this interview. Her first sentence was so powerful:  "I was dying at 55 and now rollerblading with my grandson at 78."    Her life story begins 78 years ago in the States where she experienced a childhood of excessive abuse. At the age of 55 she almost died due to the wide range of consequences because of this abuse. "My childhood was extremely abusive. I endured head traumas, broken ribs, skull, jaws, and neck that resulted in a Near Death Experience. My life was continued but I had the residue of emotional and physical abuse, 30 years of migraine headache, scoliosis, leaky heart valve, dyslexia and irlen syndrome to name a few."    She survived the NDE at 55, married the one doctor who managed to give her back her life (who wouldn't!) and today she is on a mission to change the game for many people who are stuck in a prison of Shame and Guilt.   "My legacy is to be the one who exposed the destructive shame guilt influence deliberately placed upon humanity. Individuals can now be naturally empowered because no one is educated or controlled to be a victim."     Loïs explains what the Shame Guilt energy does, how it is present in even the smallest thoughts we have during the day, why it's also then very destructive for us and most importantly: how to get rid of it.   During this interview I'm sharing one of my biggest trauma's that I had suppressed for 23 years - without consciously knowing I did. But I always felt this Shame Guilt energy around, however, I didn't know it was this energy. We can carry this with us for so many years and it's suppressing a to of the power that we posses.   Today Loïs is helping people all over the world as a Shame Guilt Educator, counsellor and filmmaker.
