    235. Outwork Everybody: Olympian Mindset with Colton Brown

    Today, we are joined by two-time Judo Olympian, Colton Brown, who shares his story of dedication, hard work, and success. Colton started Judo at 7-years old, and despite his disinterest in the sport originally, Colton learned from his losses to become one of the best in the country. Colton is a two-time Olympian who competed in the Rio and Tokyo Olympics (2016 & 2021, respectively) and was a three-time National champion at San Jose St., where he captained the team for his entire tenure. Colton's recipe to success is straight forward; he will outwork you. This, mixed with his genuine care for his people, has allowed for success also in business. Colton is the founder and owner of Colton Brown Training Center, in Warren NJ. The gym boasts an impressive growth of 500 members in 4 years.     234. Building Community and Trust with Andy and Melvis

    We welcome back Andy Main and Melvis Figueroa. By now you have all heard about Pure MMA from this show; well today, we are joined by one of its founders, Andy Main, and one of the head Muay Thai instructors, Melvis Figueroa. Both have been on the show before (Andy at episode 49 & and Mel at episode 205), however we figured it would be neat to have them both on to share some stories of their time training together. While not related, the two have formed a brother-like relationship through their intense training over the years. Both men fought professionally in MMA with Andy becoming a Bellator Champion. Today, we got a neat understanding of how the culture of Pure MMA was established and why it is one of the top gyms around with around 500-600 total members. We also hear some funny stories from Andy and Mel's time on the mats together. Enjoy.     233. Psychedelics: How One Trip Changed the Life of an Angry Kid with Justin Behre

    It is not often that someone is willing to share their struggles, however today we were joined by that person, Justin Behre. Justin grew up as an angry kid, which stemmed from his upbringing. Justin's father did the best he could to provide for the family in the Navy, while his mother's alcoholism stopped her from helping in the day-to-day tasks. Justin turned to the thrill of pyromania and other wild ventures, as a sort of rebellion, until one day an LSD trip changed everything. Justin had an out of body experience, encounters with tall beings, and telepathic conversations with a friend. From that day, Justin's life changed as he was able to put some of that anger aside. We also touch on Justin's recent battles with depression/anxiety and how this has affected his marriage and daily life. One thing holds true though, Justin always comes back stronger and knows that he is in control of his destiny. Justin hopes that his story will help anyone who thinks they may be struggling alone. In short, you are not, but it is up to you to make your life better.
