    65 - Tia Schram: The Journey & Building 7D Media

    Tia struck me as the type that sets goals, surpasses them and then re sets her sights again. It is no easy task establishing a progressive business in your 20’s. Then to grow and grow and grow is just impressive. I enjoyed visiting with Tia and learning of her work ethic, strong sense of direction and the way her genuine positive attitude lifts up the conversation.  I have started my own business, felt the joy and excitement, swung through the frustration and disappointment of moments. I felt like we could really relate to one another in that sense. We don't focus on the harder times but we have to acknowledge them because things that are worth doing and building very rarely turn into walks along the beach.  Thanks again Tia for the wonderful stories and being in the moment to explain details and offer wonderful advice for those listening to ruminate on. Like I said, having drive, positivity and flexibility doing what she has in her short time as an entrepreneur is much harder than she will ever admit.     We are back! Sorry everyone, took a little summer break and missed August! Cant blame it on anything but the great weather and some sunshine at the lake.  Randy and Justin were great guests on the podcast. I've always enjoyed visiting with Randy just about cows and his thoughts. As I get older and more stubborn, it's people like the Jame’s that remind me that being flexible and accepting opportunity in all forms will get you there too. There are numerous paths to choose in life and being true to yourself brings you back to the same destination anyhow.  Justin and I bump into one another at lots of Agriculture Industry and Producer events in Saskatchewan.     61 - Highway 21 Group with Lyle Miller

    This is a really insightful episode and pulled in a lot of pieces of the cattle business I think of daily. Feeder cattle, breeding cattle, genetic selection, data, data, data.  Lyle from Highway 21 group has a great perspective on what his vision of the business is and how each part affects the next. He is clearly a man with knowledge of more than just pedigrees or feed charts.  Highway 21 has a strong history in making things happen. The Miller family has seen some good times and some bumps along the road. Their ideas of the cattle business and long standing relationships have supported them through times of growth and change. To some change can be a scary thing, but with commitment and developing the skills to follow what the insights are saying, Highway 21 group has become a multi divisional family owned operation.     59 - Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame

    A great change of pace for an interview and learning about the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame was fun. I reference LEGENDS in this podcast frequently. In the Hall of Fame, these are industry Legends immortalized by their stories and with a beautiful portrait.  Located in Toronto on the fair grounds, the CAHF is a first class organization dedicated to the history of those that built up Canadian Agriculture and had an impact locally, nationally and globally.  Make sure to check out their website: cahfa.com. Look up some inductees. Read some of the history and great stories. My wife and I have also signed up as lifetime members, it took all of 15 seconds and I feel like the networking opportunities from future events will be tremendous.  Phil Boyd, the Chair of the Board was gracious to walk through the process of applying for the hall and other details. He also talked about how to visit the Hall. This is now on my bucket list of places to visit and spend time taking in the beautiful portraits and reading the stories of great people.   There are over 245 inductees in the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame. It was a cool feeling as I looked through the members to say that I personally knew some of their stories. Make sure to go have a look yourself.
