Archive Episode #1135 - The Mind To Suffer

Listen to this archive episode of Tent Talk as Nancy McCready explores what it means to have the mind to suffer—not suffering as punishment, self-righteousness, or something we manufacture for ourselves, but the willingness to endure whatever comes through following the Father and living as Christ. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:1, Romans 8, and Philippians 2, Nancy examines the mind of Christ as part of our inheritance in Him. As maturing sons, we are learning to see as He sees, think as He thinks, and become increasingly responsive to Holy Spirit. This includes developing the willingness to persevere when obedience brings rejection, hardship, waiting, or suffering. The motivation is not suffering itself—it is fellowship with Him. As the mind of Christ is developed within us, fear, rejection, and the threat of suffering lose their ability to control us. This archive episode is a call to allow Holy Spirit to prepare us for the day and hour in which we live, so that whatever lies ahead, we can continue faithfully with Him. Thanks for Listening! Episode #1134 - Here We Go! Podcast Shorts with Nancy

Recording from Clewiston, Florida, Nancy McCready continues the conversation on the good and handsome warfare with a call for truth to put on its shoes. It is not enough to know our identity in Christ; truth must become the way we walk, behave, communicate, make decisions, handle disappointment, and conduct the ordinary business of our lives. Drawing from Romans 6 and Hebrews 12, Nancy reminds us that sons are not being punished—they are being prepared. The Cross has not left us fighting to suppress an old identity. We have been crucified and raised with Christ so that we might walk in newness of life. Our new life begins in union, not effort. As that reality becomes experiential, Holy Spirit trains us to recognize and refuse the lies, offenses, hidden agreements, and compromises that do not belong to the life we now share with Christ. True warfare is not hype, bravado, or constant fascination with darkness. It is the steady progression of Christ’s life within us until His integrity and character govern our everyday affairs. Every step of obedience becomes warfare as maturing sons learn the Father’s ways, walk forward with Him, and become sharp and skilled instruments of righteousness in His hands. Thanks for Listening! Episode #1133 - Here We Go! Podcast Shorts with Nancy

Recording from the airport lounge in Krakow, Poland, Nancy McCready continues the conversation on the good and handsome warfare as she prepares to return to the United States after a week of Cross Encounter, ministry, and conversations in Rybnik. Looking again at the warfare of Jesus, Nancy emphasizes that the enemy’s goal is separation, while the strength of a maturing son is found in oneness with the Father. Jesus did not allow darkness, accusation, misunderstanding, rejection, or the actions of others to consume His attention. His face remained toward the Father and His eternal intention. Sometimes His warfare was speaking. Sometimes it was silence. But His response always came from fellowship and obedience. As sons mature, warfare becomes less about fascination with darkness and more about faithfully living the life of Christ. We do not have to answer every accusation, prove ourselves right, keep accounts of who appreciated us, or allow another person’s flesh to dictate our lives. Our greatest strategy is to remain joined to the Father, discern His will, and freely live in agreement with Him. This Here We Go episode is a call to grow up, remain faithful to what the Father has entrusted to us, and discover the tremendous authority of a life lived in uninterrupted oneness and obedience to Him. Episode #1132 - Here We Go! Podcast Shorts with Nancy

Recording from Rybnik, Poland, Nancy McCready continues the conversation on the good and handsome warfare by looking at the warfare of Jesus Himself. His warfare was not driven by outward pressure, the need to prove Himself, or a constant display of force. Jesus lived and responded from unwavering dependency upon the Father. Drawing from John 14:30–31 and Jesus’ journey to the Cross, Nancy explores a powerful rule of engagement: the enemy had nothing in Jesus because the Father had all of Him. Satan could tempt Him but could not turn Him. People could accuse, misunderstand, wound, and oppose Him, but they could not draw Him out of His oneness with the Father. Jesus was free to speak when the Father gave Him words and equally free to remain silent when obedience required silence. This Here We Go episode challenges maturing sons to recognize that true warfare is not about winning every argument, defending ourselves, or reacting to every offense. It is about becoming so governed by the Father that neither opposition nor approval can move us from obedience. Jesus shows us the way: full dependency, precise obedience, and a life completely yielded to the Father. Thanks for Listening! Episode #1131 - Here We Go! Podcast Shorts with Nancy

Recording from Rybnik, Poland, Nancy McCready continues the conversation on conducting the good and handsome warfare by asking a sobering question: Are we mature enough to carry what the Father desires to entrust to us? Drawing from Hebrews 5:12–14, Nancy examines the difference between spiritual infants who remain dependent upon milk and maturing sons whose spiritual senses are being trained through practiced obedience. Milk is essential for a season, but sons cannot conduct mature warfare while insisting upon an infant’s diet. The revelation of righteousness must move beyond spiritual vocabulary and pierce the inner life—reaching our motives, reactions, appetites, ambitions, offenses, and hidden agreements with darkness. Maturity is not accidental. As we repeatedly respond to Holy Spirit, remain with the Father under His dealings, and allow His truth to become reality within us, our discernment is trained. We learn to recognize what is truly of Him rather than reacting to appearances, strong emotions, flattering words, or religious language. This Here We Go episode is a call to grow up into the fullness of Christ, become sons who can accurately represent the Father, and be entrusted with His business in the good and handsome warfare. Episode #1129 - Learn the Distinctions: Not Every Battle Is the Devil

Not every difficult thing in your life is the devil. Not every hardship is your cross to bear. And not every obstacle requires the same response. Continuing the Tent Talk conversation on the good and handsome warfare, Nancy McCready challenges maturing sons to develop the discernment necessary to recognize what they are actually facing. Drawing from DeVern Fromke’s Ultimate Intention and Scripture, Nancy identifies critical distinctions between the Father’s discipline, reaping what we have sown, genuine spiritual oppression, hindrances to obedience, the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings, and self-made crosses. Maturity does not automatically blame darkness. Maturity discerns. If it is the Father’s discipline, receive it. If it is a harvest from what you have sown, repent and change what you are sowing. If it is oppression, submit to the Father and resist the enemy. If it is a hindrance, discern His direction and continue in obedience. If it is your cross, take it up freely and follow Christ. And if it is a self-made cross, put it down. This episode is an invitation to stop boxing the air, refuse spiritual ignorance, and allow the Father to train you as a sharp, skilled, mature son who knows the difference—and knows how to respond. Episode #1128 - No Complicity With Darkness: The Private Battle of a Mature Son

Private compromise and true spiritual warfare cannot peacefully coexist. Continuing the Tent Talk conversation on how mature sons conduct the good and handsome warfare, Nancy McCready turns attention to the private interior world. The Church cannot focus only on what attacks her publicly while ignoring what controls her privately. We can speak boldly about authority and rebuke darkness publicly while quietly negotiating with resentment, control, fantasy, self-pity, secret appetites, or other old patterns within. Nancy explores what it means to have no complicity with darkness—no quiet agreement that allows darkness to keep a protected room in our lives. But the answer is not greater self-suspicion, suppression, or willpower. The answer is the finished work of the Cross, the light of Holy Spirit, and deeper dependency upon the Father. We are sons of light, and the Cross has already severed us from the old independent life. True warfare begins from that victory. Maturing sons learn to recognize what they reach for apart from the Father, refuse agreements that contradict His character, and live increasingly from the life of Christ within. Do not reconnect what the Cross has disconnected. Thanks for Listening! I hope that after listening to The Tent Talk Podcast, you’ll want to start discussions with your team or small group.
