    57. Emotional Regulation: You're Not Overthinking, You're Underfeeling

f you've ever been told you're 'too emotional', struggled to process an emotion or let things go, overthought every situation or tried to act unbothered while your body says otherwise - this episode is for you. In this episode, we break down what emotional processing actually is - because replaying conversations, analysing every possibility, venting to everyone around you or trying to think your way out of an emotion isn't processing. It's often another form of avoidance. We explore why emotional regulation isn't about never getting triggered - it's about building the capacity to pause, regulate your nervous system & choose how you respond instead of reacting from survival. We also discuss why suppressing your emotions disconnects you from your body, intuition & even positive emotions, how trauma, people pleasing & gaslighting teach us to distrust ourselves, and why learning to accurately identify what's happening in your body is one of the most powerful skills you can develop. This episode will help you stop living in your head, reconnect with your body & finally move through your emotions instead of carrying them. Because when you learn to process your emotions: you trust yourself instead of questioning everythingyou respond instead of reactyou stop carrying unresolved emotional weightyou create healthier boundaries & relationshipsyou feel calmer, clearer & more emotionally resilientFeeling your emotions isn't weakness. 56. Devotion: Why women lose themselves in relationships, attachment & people pleasing

If you regularly lose yourself in other people’s energy, overthink relationships, obsess, people please or feel disconnected from yourself - this is self-abandonment. In this episode, we break down how to fix that through self-devotion - becoming deeply connected to your own body, emotions, needs, standards & internal world instead of consumed by everyone else externally. Most women were conditioned to monitor others instead of themselves. So you learned to fawn, adapt, over-give, suppress your truth, disconnect from your body & abandon yourself to feel safe, loved or chosen. I share my own journey from disordered eating, body image struggles, anxious attachment & emotional shutdown into embodiment, pleasure, feminine energy & self-responsibility - and why true healing is not just understanding yourself intellectually, but becoming devoted to how you actually feel. We talk about limerence, controlling strategies, emotional suppression, trauma, resentment, nervous system dysregulation & why your past pain keeps infecting your future reality when it goes unprocessed. This episode will help you understand why being deeply devoted to yourself is not selfish or arrogant - it’s the thing that stops you losing yourself, betraying yourself & searching for yourself in other people. Because when you stop abandoning yourself: you stop obsessing over people who are not right for youyou trust your body instead of controlling everythingyou stop needing validation to feel worthyyou experience more pleasure, intimacy, joy & self-expressionand you finally feel safe being fully yourselfBeing self-centred is not ego. It’s self-respect. 55. Stop reacting as your Inner Child: How to heal your Relationship with your Parent(s)

If you say you’re ‘over’ your parents but still get triggered, shut down, over-explain or feel like a reactive child in seconds - this is the parent wound. In this episode, we break down how you’ve been wired to react from your inner child - where you had no power, no boundaries & had to manage emotions to stay safe - instead of leading from your adult self.  You’re not ‘too reactive’ or ‘too sensitive’ - your body is still running patterns built in childhood, where you learned to tolerate, adapt, seek approval & hold onto hope that they would change.  This shows up as feeling responsible for their emotions, reacting instantly then replaying it later, over-explaining to be understood, staying in dynamics longer than you need to & holding onto potential instead of responding to reality.  This episode will help you understand the pattern, how your ego & inner child are blocking you from leading from your adult self, and what actually needs to shift so you can stop reacting from the past. Stop waiting for them to change & learn how to reset your relationship with your parents so you can take your power back. Timestamps: 04:00 Ego insecurity & how it blocks you 06:20 Inner child triggered reactivity 10:21 The heavy grief of breaking generational cycles 12:22 Clearing past emotions, pain & trauma you carry that keep you stuck 14:10 Resetting your perspective of your parents 16:45 Reparenting yourself & your core wounds 20:44 Modeling change in your relationship with your parents 23:07 Communication & setting boundaries to break the cycle 27:00 Taking back your power The Health Hun Instagram Click here to book a free call with Orla This episode covers: parent wound, emotional triggers, inner child, reparenting, boundaries with parents, generational patterns, emotional regulation, self-leadership, relationship dynamics, nervous system conditioning

    54. The Mother wound: Your mother shapes your Body Image, Relationship with Food, Intimacy & Control issues

If you feel constantly judged, disconnected from your body, stuck in control around food, or intimacy feels tense instead of natural - this is the Mother wound. In this episode, we break down how women become wired to monitor themselves - shaping their body, emotions & behaviour to avoid criticism, rejection or emotional withdrawal. You’re not ‘too controlling’ or ‘too sensitive’ - you were conditioned to feel safe through self-surveillance, people-pleasing & managing other people’s emotions. This shows up as perfectionism with your body, control around food, difficulty receiving love & a constant underlying tension in relationships - where you’re scanning, bracing & adjusting instead of actually feeling safe. This episode will help you understand the pattern, how it’s impacting your nervous system, body image, relationships & intimacy - and what actually needs to shift to stop micromanaging your life, your partner & your body, and start living from self-trust instead of control. Timestamps: 03:15 Criticism & projection - how this shaped your body image, relationship with food & control patterns 06:25 Emotions as manipulation - guilt, walking on eggshells & why you now read everything as a threat 13:10 How your mother shaped your relationship with men, intimacy & feminine energy 16:30 Creating a new adult relationship with your mother - grief, boundaries & breaking old dynamics 21:00 Why mothering & nagging your man kills attraction - control, libido, cortisol & letting him rise (or not) The Health Hun Instagram Click here to book a free call with Orla This episode covers: mother wound, body image, relationship with food, control patterns, people pleasing, emotional regulation, intimacy issues, feminine energy, relationship dynamics, nervous system conditioning
