    Origins

In this episode, Courtney and Gregg break down a mistake they see all the time in growing businesses: relying on ads to fix deeper operational gaps. They unpack the reality that while ads can absolutely generate leads, they are only one piece of the puzzle. What actually drives revenue is everything that happens after the lead comes in. Courtney shares how ScaleUp approaches marketing differently by building systems that connect ads, CRM, follow-up, and messaging into one cohesive flow. Gregg adds perspective on how most businesses think they have a marketing problem, when in reality, they have a conversion and systems problem. They also dive into follow-up cadence and why it should never be copied from another business. The way you follow up depends on your service, your price point, and your customer. Urgent services require fast, frequent touchpoints, while higher-end or luxury services often need a more spaced-out, relationship-driven approach. Throughout the episode, they emphasize that more leads will not fix a broken backend. In fact, it usually just makes the problem more expensive. This episode is a must-listen for service-based business owners who are investing in marketing but not seeing the return they expected.

How Do I Feel More In Control?

What's up guys! In these Boomer State of Mind episodes I will be focusing on different things I am working on or thinking about. I am hoping as I go through these in my own life you can find some relevance that is applicable to yours! Some weeks I will be focused on a question I think may need addressed and other weeks I may be focused on something in the world. From week to week it'll be a different dive into what my mind is thinking through.  This week I am focusing on the question: How Do I Feel More In Control? In a society that is riddled with anxiety and depression, unhappiness and fear-mongering, I do my best to stick to and develop my routine that helps me avoid these feelings as much as possible.

    Dealing with the Down Days

This week Gregg & Courtney take on the topic of dealing with the down days. In a perfect world everyday would be happy, exciting and blissful. However, in the real world, where we live not all days work out that way. For many of us there are many days that things happen that put us into a tailspin that we can't seem to get out of until we crash and burn.  On this episode, they talk about simple things you can do everyday to help minimize the bad days. Strategies and tactics to course correct when things go bad so you can still have productive days when you just aren't feeling it! Trust me we all have those days!
