    Who Can Stand? | Be Loved | November 1st, 2026

    As beloved children, we have nothing to prove and no one to impress. We’re excited to report back to you on the results from our Multiply series. God has been very kind to us. This week, we start a new series called BE-LOVED. We believe it: this is the most important series we’ve done all year, both for our church family and for those who have yet to make the decision to follow Jesus. This week, we’ll be in Romans 5:1–11 with a message titled, “Who Can Stand?” Who gives us our right standing with God, how do we receive it, and how should that change our day-to-day lives as followers of Jesus? We’re often tired, exhausted from trying to meet other people’s expectations and our own standards. We don’t always know how to walk in the love God has for us as His beloved children. We might know and believe that Jesus saves us by faith alone, but we don’t always live in that reality daily. We drift from this love, and we’re contending that knowing and believing this truth would radically change how we experience the freedom, joy, and rest Jesus offers us. We’ll also talk about how to rejoice in suffering and what that really means. God’s Word is timeless on this subject, and it doesn’t just give us theoretical ideas; it shows us how to live them out. “What I love about this passage and this series is that the gospel is an inexhaustible well, and we need to go to the deep end! Our study of God must change how we experience and interact with Him on every level. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, a business owner, a student in 10th grade, an employee who dreads Monday, a pastor, or anything in between, the question is: Who can stand through this life? We’ve been saved, and God has left us here on earth for a purpose.     The Madness of Multiplying | Multiply | October 25th, 2026

    It is both safe and best to live in a way that God must move or you fail. This week we wrap up our Multiply series by looking at the passage our church name comes from, Acts 5:39! We’re FIRED up to be with you. The title of this message is The Madness of Multiplying. When you look at this story and the story of how the gospel has advanced from a handful of people to where it is today, it almost seems crazy. They get beaten, threatened, and some killed, yet they keep going. They don’t stop sharing the gospel. They count it an honor and privilege to suffer for their Savior. “When my wife and I felt like God was leading us to name our church FIVE39, we didn’t know what would happen. But we did know this: we wanted to lead a group of people in such a way that if God was in it, we would be fine. If we heard Him wrong or got in the way of what He wanted to do, it would fail. We still believe that, and we still operate that way. We’ve had our share of suffering, both internally and externally, and we count it an honor to suffer, even in a small way, for our King!” But this story tells a much bigger story. The “it” is the gospel, and every church and follower of Jesus in the world today is a testament to the fact that the gospel has not failed. Here’s one lesson for all of us: It is both safe and best to live in a way that God must move or you fail. The fear of failure is a funny thing when you really think about it. It tells a much bigger story of the lies we believe. This Sunday, we asked everyone in our church family to make a commitment to God as we prepare to plant our Kent campus. We have an opportunity to commit to going to Kent, serving at Akron, or giving consistently to help make this church plant become a reality. Everyone is at a different place in their walk with Jesus and their journey at FIVE39. We simply want you to ask God what He wants you to do and then respond in obedience. One thing I’m more confident in than ever: If God is in this, we will be fine. If not… Well there is only one way to find out!     Reproduce Yourself | Multiply | October 18th, 2026

    We are continuing in our Multiply series and this week we will look at a somewhat popular passage found in Matthew 28:16-20. Matthew is finishing up his gospel with some of the most powerful and clearest words of Jesus. These verses are known as The Great Commission. These are the “marching orders” Jesus gave to His followers and they are words that still guide the church and each believer today. We will talk about the disciples first reaction to seeing Jesus - some worshiped and some doubted. We will also take a closer look at Jesus’ statement about His authority and what that means to us today. The power in the text is the charge from Jesus to “Go and make disciples”! We will talk about what it means for us to “Go” and we will share some practical ways we can all “make disciples”. Please continue to pray and ask God what His plans are for you regarding the Kent Campus and “making disciples” in that city where 93% do not attend a church.     God’s Math Multiplies | Multiply | October 11th, 2026

    This Sunday is Week 3, and we’re looking at the second most popular miracle Jesus ever did: the feeding of thousands with five loaves of bread and two fish. This miracle shows up in all four Gospels. It is rich with meaning and with lessons for us as individuals and as a church family—lessons about dependency, sacrifice, and God’s math. The disciples almost missed what Jesus was doing. They actually would have missed it on their own, but Jesus kept pressing them with questions. And as a church, we can miss the miracle where, in the middle of our sacrifice, God can multiply. We’ll talk about the faith of the unnamed boy who gave up his lunch, his parents who had to trust that their son would walk in the will of God and not stop him, and how, when a lot of people want to be fed, it’s not a bad thing. It’s actually a cool opportunity for God to show off and supply more than enough to draw people to Himself. Because, church, even if we have little, it is always enough in the hands of Jesus. If you read this story and don’t dig deep, you’ll miss the bigger picture. You really need to understand the timeline and the entire chapter of John 6. Trust me, Jesus wasn’t just trying to fill bellies; He was trying to fill heaven. They wanted Jesus to be king, and He would be their King, but not their physical one. We all want Jesus for personal gain at times. Every one of us is sitting in someone’s sacrifice. And for a lot of us, it’s just our turn. It’s your turn to go, serve, or give. What stories of faith will you tell your kids and grandkids? Not for fame or to be remembered, but to tell them how you gave Jesus what you had and how He multiplied it more than you could ever imagine.     An Invitation to Risk | Multiply | October 4th, 2026

    Risk is required when we go with God. Church family, we’re in week 2 of our new series called Multiply. This week we’re talking about what it means to take a “risk” for God. We will be in Joshua chapter 1, looking at when God called Joshua to lead the people into the Promised Land. There are so many good lessons for us as a church in this story and passage. Most people today are prone to playing it safe, letting others “go” first. See who else is coming. It seems that less and less people are willing to risk something for God. It might “go” bad. You “could” run out of money. Who else is coming? We hear a lot of people saying, “I’m trying to discern God’s voice.” It appears to be about feelings, friends, and logic… and that, church, we have backwards. The goal for our time will be simply to ask you to ask God what He wants you to do and then take the risk, whatever that means for you. Joshua was definitely scared, insecure, and needed affirmation. Most of us are like Joshua. There are some great leadership lessons, challenges for us to obey, and reminders for us to stay under the Book! It will ultimately lead me to ask a question: “What would you attempt for God if you knew He was with you?” Joshua stepped up and led the people. For us, it means something different, but nonetheless, it is a question we all should wrestle with. Who would you serve? Who would you share the gospel with? What would you give? Where would you go? Make no mistake, risk is definitely a scary thing. As we look at the Bible, God usually taps those on the shoulder who will risk while others are playing it safe. Jesus has so much more for you in your walk with Him.     Help Wanted | Multiply | September 27th, 2026

    This week we start a new 5-week series called “Multiply,” where we will be talking about what it means to multiply as a church and plant our first campus. This is an exciting time as a church family. We’re stepping into our biggest faith step yet as a church. This will require ALL of us. We've prayed and sought the Lord on this as elders and leaders and believe this next step for us is God's will. We’re inviting everyone to take a step with us. Some of you will go, some of you will stay and serve, some of you will move from a consumer to a contributor. Multiply is an invitation to join an army, not an audience. This week we start with Matthew 9, talking about Jesus’ words about the harvest with a message titled, “Help Wanted.” Have you noticed that places are hiring these days? It looks like everyone is short-staffed. Well, Jesus’ team was short on workers then, and it is now, and it shouldn't be, honestly. It’s actually a concern of mine personally. Less and less people think it’s their responsibility to serve Jesus. They think, “Someone else will do it,” whatever it is. This week we’re going to talk about what Jesus is asking us to do. We have a harvest, (Kent) it’s white hot for the gospel and… it’s short on workers. Instead of trying to convince and have a ton of strategies to solve this problem, we figured we would do what Jesus did… tell the people the need and… PRAY! We all know services can be motivating, but only God can move the heart. I’ve been praying for you. Our leadership has been praying for you. This Sunday will be more of the heart-level work, the why and the what. We actually won't ask any one person to do anything. We ask all of you to ask God what He wants you to do. And we'll leave the result to Him. This is a pretty fun and exciting time as a church family.     What God Does With 4 | Raiding Hell | September 20th, 2026

    This Sunday is special, we’re turning 4! That’s a big deal for us, at least we think so! God has done so much through you, and we want to pause and celebrate. We’re often bad at pausing and doing that. We’re often a people who are on to the next thing, asking God for more. We want to have a rhythm of just stopping as a church and saying, “Thank you, Lord,” as we look at all He has done these past few years. And if you’re new to our church, let me just say this: God has been way better than we thought He was going to be. We’re continuing our series Raiding Hell, looking at a passage in Mark 2 with a message titled, “What God Does with 4.” We’ll spend time looking back at 4, looking around at what God has done in 4 years, and looking at a passage about someone who needed to be carried by 4! It will be the theme of the day! Jesus has built this house, and we want to glorify His name. We want to be people like the 4 unnamed people in this story who are just trying to get one more person into Jesus’ presence, no matter what it takes! We have a special guest with us this Sunday, and you’ll be in for a treat. Before we multiply as a church, we need to remember how far we have come and all that God has done. We will be baptizing 20+ people!     Called to Catch | Raiding Hell | September 13th, 2026

    Jesus didn’t form His church to be a day spa; He sends us on a mission worth giving our lives to. Church family, This Sunday, we continue our series Raiding Hell as we look at the type of person Jesus calls to do the work. It’s very odd when you look at the group Jesus forms. He doesn’t get the most educated, religious, or well-rounded group. He calls people who are busy doing their own thing, living paycheck to paycheck, seeking to provide for their families, and pursuing dreams they’re trying to live out. He meets them on their turf, shows them a powerful illustration, and calls them to start “catching men.” This Sunday, we’ll be in Luke 5, looking at the moment Jesus calls Peter to leave his fishing career and follow Him. It’s a reminder that Jesus doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. There are so many powerful lessons in this story that we can apply to our own lives. Most of us, like Peter, are busy building our own platforms, lives, and careers. But Jesus has something more important for us to pursue: people. The people we interact with every day are people we’re called to “catch” and rescue from fire. Jesus wants to use you and me to call people by name through us. The problem is that most of us don’t feel equipped, qualified, or worthy to do this. We’re filled with fear and confronted with the reality of our own sinfulness. But there is good news when we feel this way. When we look at Scripture, we see that Jesus is calling all of us to be fishers of men, no matter where we are in our journey. What if spiritual maturity was measured by catching others not knowing we should?
