ep. 2: women in science & engineering- there are enough seats at the table and getting creative

Back with the second installment of the Childhood Chronicles series! Today I talk about my experience being a ✨women in stem ✨ haha and how it's progressed from childhood to college. I also specifically talk about how society can pit women and underrepresented minorities against each other for the coveted seat at the table, and how I was able to grapple with these feelings by meeting new perspectives and getting creative again. Thank you so much for listening 3

Episode 9: When Everything and Nothing Are Happening At the Same Time

Feeling bored even with a heavy to do list? I can relate A LOT. This episode is just an honest 10 minute spiral of how I feel after a long day of class and how there's nothing like a little nihilism.

ep. 1: science olympiad- don't take it personally

Starting a new series on this podcast based on the specific experiences and lessons I gained from my childhood- kind of like a run through of my common app? Haha. I discuss one of the main influences on my journey in science, the questions of self-doubt competition can have on you growing up and to not take people's decisions too personally.

Ep. 8: Yearly Reflection 2022

Welcome to the new year! In today's little episode, I give a little outline for how I reflect on past years and give my reflection on all the small but big things that happened to me last year. It's super important to be able to reflect at all times even if it's later in the year, and I hope this podcast helps get the gears turning in your beautiful head on the past year. Talk to you very soon!

Ep. 7: Dealing with Failures

Academically, socially, physically and personally- I talk about all of mine the past few weeks. I also talk about the behaviors I'm unlearning regarding failure from my childhood, and two little tidbits of advice that I like to remind myself of (hi, future Amy) when I do come across failures or struggles like these.

Ep. 6: How Many Segues Can I Make In 20 Minutes?

hi!! it's been a while, but i am back with a fun unstructured episode where I used a random word generator to start a nonstop ramble of segues, something I've always been curious about considering how my mind tends to wander around even in structured episodes. This was very fun to record, and interesting to hear how my mind thinks naturally out loud. I also give my podcast recommendations at the end if you're also trying to get into listening to podcasts- they're definitely a good way to destress :) have a joyous Friday!

Ep. 5: Never Enough

This episode's music is called elevator music bossa nova- like how juicy does that sound? I'm back today with another episode where I shared some stories and what I've felt recently are the roots of our mindset of never being good enough- humanity, am I right? You're not alone if you've ever had these thoughts, even on the days when they're more overwhelming 3 some days are better than others, but I'm proud of you!! You're going to do some pretty darn mind-blowing things.

Ep. 4: Overthinking about Overthinking

I'm loving this try out a new intro every time- this free copyright piano was just so calming to listen to. I hope it made you feel a decent amount of serenity too. Today I talked about the definition of overthinking, the causes of overthinking, what behaviors indicate overthinking (some personal experiences ;...) ) and how to control overthinking (wait what?). I still have areas to grow with this topic myself, but acknowledging our tendency to overthink is pretty powerful in itself. Okay. Enjoy.

Ep. 3: Abortion is a Healthcare Issue

For a while, I've been trying to brainstorm and work on my other podcast episode ideas, but honestly, I couldn't think about anything besides what's been going on recently. So I decided to talk about it. Abortion is a huge part of healthcare and our well-being and research has proven this consistently. I shared what I've learned about the history of abortion, the present and future of abortion in the US, the public health research that has shown the detrimental impacts of banning abortion. I also share my opinions about pro-life arguments and talk about hope in terms of lowering maternal mortality rates. I tried my best to coherently put all my thoughts into this podcast, but as always, I'm open to any comments/suggestions/questions and will absolutely be continuing to do research on my own time just like I know you will as well. Ep. 2: The Habit of Journaling

Did I really just look up copyright free intro music and horribly place it into my audacity file at the beginning? Yes, and it gave me life. I'm thinking of changing it every episode until I actually get around to making one myself, but I'm the master procrastinator- speaking of which, how can we increase our mindfulness? This episode I talk all about why I started journaling, the actual studies and what goes on our brain when we journal and some tips on how to start. Watch if you want to be mindful (a light-hearted suggestion of course).
