Welcome to the Confidence in Christ podcast. I’m Kala and I’m here to offer you the opportunity to grow in your confidence of the Lord. Through interviews with friends, simple and practical scripture application to your life and some good old fashion tough love at times, you will be more equipped to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ after hanging out here with us. I’m a woman just like you, who loves the Lord with all my heart and is doing my best to follow his will for my life. Meeting you here weekly and passing on the knowledge he has given me is part of what that looks like.     Asking the Hard Questions: How it Builds Our Faith with Kendall Mariah

    Send a text What is it about the hard questions in life that make us sink back and avoid them? Is it the awkwardness? The unknown? The not fully understanding the topic? It could be any number of these things or others but what we are asking this week on the podcast is, why not talk about it?  That's why the wonderful and talented Kendall Mariah wrote this book on this very topic. She isn't afraid to go to those hard topics and talk about them. She knows that when we do, our faith can be strengthened. why? Because when we take those hard topics to God he is faithful to respond and meet us right where we are. What a great God we serve! So many people are looking back to 2016, and for Kendall, in 2016 she founded Unapologetic Ministry, a blog and community focused on topics that are often-taboo in the church--infertility, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, just to name a few. She is an influencer, author and Bible study leader. Kendall and her husband, Justin, are currently remodeling a 1937 colonial home in their hometown of Benson, North Carolina, where she loves to share a glimpse into their small-town life.     Finding Yourself in the Wild Pursing Love of God with Whitney Lowe

That he is actively pursing us in our current season of life. That's exactly what my new friend Whitney's book is all about. She shares part of her story during the episode and it's a beautiful reminder of how God never stops chasing after us.  Whitney Lowe is a Christian influencer who wants to see young women excited about God’s work: in the Bible, in history, in the world and in themselves.     Authentically Living for Jesus Christ with Linda Hagar

    Send us a text Last week was all about motherhood and how sometimes it can be tough. Keeping our eyes on Jesus and seeing ourselves like he sees us makes all the difference. This week is a follow up episode that I'm excited to share with you!  I met Linda through a friend and she agreed to sit down and share authentically her experience in following Jesus. It's not always perfect and we can always improve but the truth is, there is grace for us! Being Holy Spirit led, aka, letting God be in control of your life is not for the casual Christian. It's for those who want more of God, want to be made into his image and want to impact the world around them for the Kingdom.     Hating Motherhood: How to See Your Children as God Sees Them with Shayla Marie Huber

    Send us a text Motherhood.... it will always be one of the biggest blessings in our life but it is also something that can drive us crazy! Do not get me wrong, I love my kiddos and would do absolutely anything for them but some days, they push every button I have and even discover new ones! haha Have you been there?  My amazing friend Shayla felt the exact same way for years. She was just like us, frustrated, angry, yelling and checked out. Then something changed. The Lord spoke to her and took her on a journey of healing not just in motherhood but in herself. Her insight on this topic is not revolutionary but it sure feels like it to those of us who are still on the struggle bus!! Her newest book, 10 Things I Hate About Motherhood touches on the 10 things that she struggled with that God did a mighty work in. Then she did the generous thing and shared them with us in this book! This book is one that needs to be on your bookshelf at all times for reference!  Shayla is a rodeo wife and momma, author and speaker who helps women seek God first to transform their marriages, their homes, and their lives!
