2026 MVP Open at Maple Hill Was INSANE | Full Recap & Reactions

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED AT MAPLE HILL?!The 2026 MVP Open x OTB at Maple Hill was anything but a normal Disc Golf Pro Tour weekend. Severe weather completely changed the tournament, Saturday’s play was suspended, and the event was ultimately shortened to just three rounds. And somehow, that was only the beginning of the story. On this episode of Courtesy Violation Podcast, we’re breaking down everything that went down at one of the most iconic stops on the DGPT.Ricky Wysocki came away with the MPO victory at Maple Hill, finishing at -12 and holding off Jesse Nieminen by just one stroke. Nieminen put together an impressive performance to finish second at -11, with Evan Smith and Calvin Heimburg rounding out the top four. But the FPO division delivered a completely different kind of story.Sintija Klezberga captured her first DGPT victory and became the 2026 MVP Open FPO champion, while Eveliina Salonen and Holyn Handley finished tied for second. Klezberga’s breakthrough also marked a historic moment for Latvian disc golf. And then there’s the weather.Heavy rain, dangerous wind, suspended play, limited daylight, contingency layouts and a tournament that went from four planned rounds to three made this one of the strangest MVP Opens we’ve seen at Maple Hill. The DGPT was even forced to prepare multiple shortened-course scenarios in an effort to finish the event while avoiding a field cut and preserving Powerball Cup implications. We’re talking about the winners, the weather, the shortened tournament, the Ricky Wysocki and Jesse Nieminen battle, Sintija Klezberga’s breakthrough, Maple Hill, the DGPT Playoffs, Powerball Cup implications, and everything else that made this weekend one hell of a story. Was this still a proper test of Maple Hill?Did the weather completely change the outcome? Was shortening the event the right call? And what does the MVP Open mean heading into the final stretch of the 2026 Disc Golf Pro Tour season?Drop your thoughts in the comments!Courtesy Violation Podcast covers professional disc golf, the Disc Golf Pro Tour, PDGA news, disc golf tournaments, tournament results, player performances, disc golf controversies, course design, discs, rules, and everything happening around the sport.#DiscGolf #MVPOpen #MapleHill #DGPT #DiscGolfProTour #RickyWysocki #SintijaKlezberga #JesseNieminen #PDGA #DiscGolfPodcast #ProDiscGolf #FPO #MPOCVP Merch Shophttps://b2842e-a7.myshopify.com/Support The Podhttps://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/courtesyviolationpod/supportSpotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/0BCNJlXk0j6mTr8BS0c7W6?si=d13d8827bb594368Apple Podcasthttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/courtesy-violation-disc-golf-podcast/id1631228548X/Twitterhttps://x.com/CViolationpodInstagramhttps://www.instagram.com/cviolationpod/Intro Song by Fascinus Rexhttps://beacons.ai/fascinusrex

The disc golf drama DOES NOT STOP.

The 2026 LWS Open at Idlewild is in the books, and there is plenty to talk about. Gannon Buhr takes down the MPO field at one of the toughest courses on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, while Ohn Scoggins continues her incredible run at Idlewild by claiming another FPO victory. But the results are only the beginning of this week’s conversation. Then we get into ANOTHER rules controversy. After all the rules-call drama we’ve already seen this season, this time the controversy involves an official making the wrong call — and the consequences weren’t just a stroke on the scorecard. The call potentially cost a player real money, raising another big question about officiating, accountability, and how rules should be handled at the highest levels of professional disc golf. And the 2027 Disc Golf Pro Tour schedule is HERE.The DGPT has released the 2027 schedule, bringing new cities and some significant changes to the tour structure and season-ending playoff picture. We break down what stands out, what changed, which events we’re excited about, and what the new schedule could mean for professional disc golf. Finally, we get into the newest development from Latitude 64.Latitude 64 has released MAX, a brand-new plastic and molding technology designed around thinner disc lids and increased weight toward the rim. The first disc released using the new technology is the MAX Wild, a Speed 14 distance driver.Latitude 64 claims the new weight distribution produces a stronger gyroscopic effect, allowing the disc to retain spin longer and produce a straighter, more penetrating flight with additional glide and distance potential.Hmmm… Guess Brad and Chad were on to something!THIS WEEK ON COURTESY VIOLATION PODCAST:• 2026 LWS Open at Idlewild results• Gannon Buhr wins at Idlewild• Ohn Scoggins wins FPO at Idlewild• Ohn Scoggins’ continued dominance at Idlewild• More professional disc golf rules controversy• An official makes the wrong call• A rules decision that could cost a player money• Disc golf officiating and accountability• PDGA rules and tournament officials• 2027 Disc Golf Pro Tour schedule• What’s changing on the DGPT in 2027?• New DGPT events and tour stops• DGPT playoffs and the future of professional disc golf• Latitude 64 Max plastic• Gyroscopic disc golf technology• Does plastic really affect gyroscopic stability?• DGPT news, disc golf news and professional disc golf dramaIf you’re a casual disc golfer, hardcore tournament fan, DGPT follower, or just here for the weekly disc golf chaos, you’re in the right place.Subscribe to Courtesy Violation Podcast for weekly disc golf news, tournament results, DGPT coverage, player drama, rules controversies, disc reviews, and everything happening around professional disc golf.#DiscGolf #DGPT #DiscGolfProTour #LWSOpen #Idlewild #GannonBuhr #OhnScoggins #Latitude64 #DiscGolfNews #PDGA #DiscGolfPodcast #ProfessionalDiscGolf

2026 PDGA PRO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP — WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!

The 2026 PDGA Pro World Championship is officially in the books, and Championship Sunday delivered EVERYTHING: a first-time MPO World Champion, a dominant FPO performance, an international breakout star, an absolutely insane finish, and one of the most controversial calls we’ve seen at a World Championship.Silas Schultz is the 2026 PDGA MPO World Champion after an unbelievable battle with Rainers Balodis that ultimately went to a playoff. Schultz battled back late, forced the playoff, and came away with his first PDGA Major title. But the story doesn’t end there.Rainers Balodis had a two-stroke lead with two holes to play before a controversial stance/foot-fault call on Hole 17 changed the complexion of the World Championship. The call immediately exploded across social media and the disc golf community, with fans and players debating the rules, the angle of the throw, whether the violation was actually visible, and whether the current rules put too much responsibility on players to police one another. Was it the correct call? Was it a bad call? Was it simply a consequence of the current rules? And should a World Championship ever come down to something this controversial? We’re breaking it all down. We’ll also talk about Eveliina Salonen’s incredible FPO World Championship performance, Rainers Balodis’ emergence as one of the biggest stories of the tournament, Silas Schultz finally capturing his first Major, Aaron Gossage and the controversial call, the Kensington Toboggan and Black Locust courses, Championship Sunday, the biggest surprises and disappointments, and the reaction from the disc golf community.PLUS: Big Jerm’s criticism of player vending at Worlds and the bigger question of whether professional disc golf is doing enough to put money and opportunities back into the hands of the players. This is your full 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds recap and analysis from the Courtesy Violation Disc Golf Podcast.TOPICS INCLUDE:• 2026 PDGA Pro World Championship• Silas Schultz World Champion• Rainers Balodis• Eveliina Salonen• MPO World Championship• FPO World Championship• Aaron Gossage• Controversial foot fault / stance violation• Hole 17 controversy• Championship Sunday• Kensington Toboggan• Black Locust• PDGA rules• Disc golf officiating• Player calls and stance violations• Disc Golf Network• JomezPro• Professional disc golf• Disc Golf Pro Tour• PDGA Majors• World Championship controversy• Disc golf drama• Disc golf news• Disc golf analysis• Disc golf podcast• 2026 disc golf seasonWhat did YOU think about the foot-fault call? Was Rainers Balodis robbed, or was the call legitimate under the current rules?Drop your take in the comments.Subscribe to Courtesy Violation Disc Golf Podcast for weekly disc golf news, tournament breakdowns, controversy, hot takes, player stories, and everything happening in professional disc golf.#DiscGolf #DiscGolfWorlds #PDGAWorlds #ProDiscGolf #DiscGolfPodcast #PDGA #DiscGolfProTour #SilasSchultz #RainersBalodis #EveliinaSalonen #DiscGolfNews #2026DiscGolf #DiscGolfDrama

Lets Talk About Disc Golf Worlds

#DiscGolf #PDGA #ProWorlds 2026 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships are here, and this year’s Worlds could be one of the biggest events the sport has ever seen.In this episode of the Courtesy Violation Disc Golf Podcast, we’re breaking down the 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds in Milford, Michigan, including the biggest storylines, the massive investment behind the event, whether Ledgestone can top last year’s World Championship in Finland, and some of the most interesting new disc releases hitting the market.2026 PDGA PRO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEWThe 2026 PDGA Pro World Championships take place August 26–30 at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan, with Ledgestone Disc Golf and Nate Heinold leading the event. We’re talking about the players, courses, storylines, expectations and everything surrounding this year’s PDGA World Championships. Can 2026 Worlds live up to the hype?LEDGESTONE, NATE HEINOLD & THE $300,000+ INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTLedgestone has made a massive investment in the 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds experience.More than $300,000 is being invested specifically into event infrastructure, with the goal of creating a bigger and more spectator-friendly World Championship experience. The event plans include major spectator infrastructure, VIP areas, grandstands, vendor space and more. And that’s only part of the overall investment surrounding the event. Is this the future of professional disc golf events?CAN 2026 WORLDS TOP 2025 WORLDS IN FINLAND?Last year’s PDGA Pro Worlds in Nokia, Finland, delivered an incredible World Championship and helped showcase just how international professional disc golf has become. Now the question is:Can Ledgestone and Nate Heinold make the 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds bigger, better and more memorable than Finland? We’re comparing the overall event experience, spectator atmosphere, courses, infrastructure, production and hype surrounding the two championships.DISCRAFT PROJECT C90Discraft is doing something very different with Project C90.The Project C90 concept takes three familiar Discraft molds — the Luna, Buzzz and Heat — and scales them down to 90% of their standard circumference. Is smaller actually better?Does the C90 concept make these discs more approachable? And could this become something more than just a novelty? We’re breaking down what Discraft is doing with Project C90 and what it could mean for disc design.LATITUDE 64 PROJECT CHAINGRIPLatitude 64 is also experimenting with something seriously interesting.Project ChainGrip is an experimental dual-plastic putter concept designed around grip and catching the chains. It combines a firm Zero Hard core with an extremely tacky outer rim.The goal is simple: more grip, more confidence and a better chance of the disc grabbing the chains instead of bouncing or glancing off.Is this actually the next evolution of putting plastic?Or is ChainGrip just another interesting disc golf experiment?ALL THIS AND MORE ON THIS WEEK’S COURTESY VIOLATION DISC GOLF PODCAST.If you love disc golf, PDGA news, professional disc golf, disc reviews, disc golf equipment, Pro Worlds, DGPT, MPO, FPO, Discraft, Latitude 64, Ledgestone Disc Golf and everything happening around the sport, you’re in the right place.LIKE the video if you enjoyed the episode.SUBSCRIBE to Courtesy Violation for more disc golf podcast episodes, Pro Worlds coverage, disc golf news, hot takes and tournament discussion.COMMENT below and tell us:Who do you think wins the 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds? Can 2026 Worlds beat Finland? Is the $300,000+ infrastructure investment worth it?What do you think of Discraft Project C90?Would you putt with Latitude 64 Project ChainGrip? #DiscGolf #PDGA #ProWorlds #2026ProWorlds #DiscGolfPodcast #DGPT #Ledgestone #Discraft #Latitude64 #DiscGolfNews #MPO #FPO #DiscGolfCommunity #DiscGolfWorlds
