The NeuroDivine: Spirituality & Neurodivergence

Dr. Rabia Subhani

The NeuroDivine is a podcast exploring the sacred intersection of spirituality and neurodivergence. Hosted by Dr. Rabia Subhani, an ADHDer, Sufi, neurodiversity-affirming neuropsychologist, spiritual coach, and founder of QuantumQun.com, this show honors the unique sensitivities, strengths, and soul-depth of neurodivergent minds. Through intimate conversations and soulful teaching with those who identify as neurodivergent, we explore intuitive knowing, sensory intelligence, trauma healing, divine connection, and the spiritual gifts of being wired differently.  This is a sanctuary for all neurotypes (i.e. autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, highly sensitive, empathic, etc.,) and spiritually-aware souls seeking gentle wisdom and grounded tools. Please note that all information is meant to be informational/educational in nature, not mental healthcare/medical advice, and does not imply a therapeutic relationship with me. If you require mental health support, I highly recommend ndtherapists.com for ND individuals. Also, kindly note that though I subscribe to the neurodiversity-affirming paradigm, I also honor and respect my guests who do not - everyone's journey is their own.  Come home to the truth that your neurotype is a Divine design and you are meant for a greater purpose than you think!

Episode 4: The Intersection of Spirituality & Trauma with Marcel, Part I

****Trigger Warning****  This episode contains references to domestic violence, physical abuse, suicide attempt, death, and substance abuse.  In this episode, which is part 1 of 3, we have a very important, yet difficult for many, conversation about the intersection of spirituality and trauma with Marcel Coetzee who specializes in trauma integration. Most of Marcel's life has been defined by trauma. Going through his own complex trauma, and learning how to process and integrate this into his own life, is why he now helps other people: who also experienced overwhelming life traumasto incorporate these experiences into newer, better and healthier versions of themselvesFrom Marcel directly: “This is not a conventional Bio. I can tell you about my education; the courses, diplomas, degrees workshops and programs I did, and am still doing. This however, won’t tell you why I’m good at what I do. It won’t tell you about the kind of person I am or how I became who I am right now. Only my life experience can do that.” “Today I do what I can, to help those who are now, where I was then. Those who are stuck and overwhelmed. Those who are still being suffocated by their pain.  My job - my skill - is to show you that it doesn’t have to be the end, but that it can be the beginning.”  Links: Website:https://changesolutions.eu/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marcelcoetzee/   Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed by guests on this episode are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the host or NeuroDivine Podcast. Episode 3: Grounding Through Sensory Overload (Short Practice)

This episode offers a very short gentle grounding practice specifically designed for moments of sensory overload, created with neurodivergent nervous systems in mind. Rather than asking listeners to “calm down” or change their internal state, this practice focuses on safety, choice, and simplicity. The language is slow, minimal, and permission-based, with clearly marked pauses to support those experiencing overwhelm, shutdown, or sensory flooding. Listeners are invited to orient to safety, reduce sensory input, anchor in the body without force, and offer themselves compassionate reassurance, all at their own pace. This practice can be used: during acute sensory overloadin moments of shutdown or near-meltdownas a short reset during an overstimulating dayor revisited as often as neededNo prior meditation experience is required. Movement, stimming, eyes open or closed: all are welcome. This is not a replacement for medical or mental health care. It is a moment of gentleness, offered as support.
