    The Truth About Mum Rage

The Truth About Mum Rage Motherhood is a beautiful journey filled with love, joy, and endless moments of pure bliss. But let's face it, it's not all rainbows and butterflies. Behind those smiles, there's a hidden reality that many mothers experience but rarely talk about: Mum Rage. Mum Rage, also known as Angry Mother Syndrome, is a topic shrouded in stigma and misconception. It's time to peel back the layers and uncover the truth about this powerful and often overwhelming emotion. At its core, Mum Rage stems from unmet needs. It's not about being a "bad" or "unfit" mother—it's about being human. Just like anyone else, mothers have their limits, frustrations, and triggers. The pressure to be a perfect mother, the juggling act of managing a household, and the emotional rollercoaster of raising children can all contribute to the build-up of Mum Rage. But here's the real truth: Mum Rage is normal. Yes, you read that right. It's a normal and natural response to the challenges of motherhood. In this episode we debunk the notion that anger equals failure in motherhood plus we explore: 04:59  Definition of mum’s rage based on Cristalle Hayes's book, ‘Angry Mother Assertive Mother” 08:20  Experiencing the emotions of mum rage 11:29  Trapped in the role of 'Good Daughter' 12:18  How children pick up on parents' rage 17:51  Factors that contribute to being trapped in mum rage 18:37  The significance of repair work  20:47  The connection between mum's rage and self-abandonment 24:13  Managing and recognising your emotions 32:33 ‘How to Stop Losing It with Your Kids" - a practical guide to managing emotions and nurturing a happy child Key Quotes 13:30  Mum's rage often stems from unmet needs, as it resurfaces due to our own personal experiences of not having all our needs met. This unfulfilled longing can trigger a primal response within us, resulting in a feeling of being out of control. - Leashia Arrowsmith 14:51  Anger is a natural human emotion that should not be categorized as inherently good or bad. It is a vital part of our emotional spectrum, and it is perfectly healthy for us to acknowledge and experience the full range of emotions that we feel. - Charlie Brown 18:50  We can engage in the work of managing our rage, yet inevitably, regardless of how calm and peaceful we are as parents, there will be moments when anger and rage arise within us. - Leashia Arrowsmith 20:38  We're not perfect, and there will be moments of rupture. The true measure lies in how we repair those ruptures, and how swiftly we do so. For many adults, the challenge lies in taking responsibility, for we often struggle to admit our mistakes or acknowledge those less-than-stellar moments in our journey as mothers. - Charlie Brown 24:42  When we project our anger onto someone else, we fail to address and process our anger in a healthy manner. However, when we are able to hold space for our own anger, allowing it to be present, and truly understanding the message it carries, we engage in a beautiful process of self-discovery and growth. 35:21  Anger does not define you as a bad mother, wife, or human being. It is important to recognize that feeling anger is a normal part of being human, and it is a common experience that we all go through. - Charlie Brown 36:33  Remember, your anger is a message. By acknowledging that your emotions have a purpose and are trying to convey something to you, you can begin to approach them with curiosity. Embracing this perspective is an excellent starting point for understanding and working with your anger. - Leashia Arrowsmith Connect with Charlie Charlie's mission is to change the way we view & experience motherhood, to co-create & initiate a new standard of care for you. Demystifying Baby Nutrition with Gen

Demystifying Baby Nutrition with Gen In this episode you’ll learn: 02:35  Gen’s backstory and her journey to helping women prioritize themselves 07:10  Her inspiration behind creating her program 13:48  The human baby’s brain development  14:01  Factors that can affect our baby’s nervous system 18:07  The wisdom of innocence  19:34  The purpose and benefits of her program 21:00  Signs that your baby is not ready to start solid food 21:24  How to introduce solid food to your baby 23:53  Gen’s biggest lesson in motherhood Key Quotes 18:16  Sometimes, the best way to improve our kid’s well-being is to simply go back to basics. Getting our hands dirty with the kids while playing in the garden, even for just 10-15 minutes, can do wonders for their physical and mental health. It's not just about food or exercise, it's about embracing simplicity and rediscovering the joy in life's simple pleasures. - Gen 21:24  I believe in empowering our baby to explore new experiences, including the introduction of solid foods. When you see signs that your little one is ready and eager to try, encourage and support them. It's important to remember that every baby is unique and may be ready at different times. However, I also advocate for following recommended guidelines and waiting until at least 6 months to begin introducing solids, ensuring that your baby's development is supported and safe. - Gen 23:53  There’s no such thing as perfectionism in motherhood or in life. - Gen 25:01 By investing time into my own growth and well-being, I not only become a better, stronger person for myself but also for my children. - Gen 25:38  Motherhood can be messy, but taking time for myself has brought a sense of fulfillment and progress to my journey. - Gen 26:00  To any mom feeling shame, take a moment to reflect on where you may be striving for perfection and setting unrealistic expectations for yourself and your children. Remember that being a good mom doesn't mean being perfect, it means doing your best with love and compassion. - Leashia Arrowsmith Connect with Gen Gen is a busy mom of 2 children and 2 toddlers. The 7 Shifts Of Motherhood | Matrescence

The 7 Shifts To Motherhood (Ep. 3) In this episode you’ll learn: 02:07 Misconceptions about Motherhood 04:38  Matrescence - understanding the process of becoming a mother 06:24  Shift #1: Physical change 10:04  Shift #2: Mental change 10:55  Shift #3: Emotional change 14:31   Shift #4: Social change 17:12   Shift #5: Culture change 18:35  Shift #6: Economic change 19:36 Importance of financial support from your spouse during motherhood 21:37  Shift #7: Spiritual change 23:29 Emotional Freedom Reset Program Key Quotes 03:18  A lot of us end up feeling lost in motherhood and that we’ve lost ourselves and we see this as a bad thing, I really like to reframe that and allow us to see this as part of the journey, it’s part of the matrescence journey, it’s part of the becoming a mother. 03:41  To find ourselves, first, we need to lose ourselves. 04:27  By acknowledging the transformative journey of matrescence, we open the door to greater understanding and compassion for the struggles many mothers face. It won't erase those feelings of loss, loneliness, or anxiety, but it can provide a path forward with less pain and more support. 14:59  The demands of motherhood can make it challenging to maintain all of the social connections we once had, but it also creates an opportunity to intentionally prioritize the relationships that truly matter and align with our values. 15:16  The journey into motherhood often brings about changes and shifts in our friendships. While some connections may grow stronger, others may naturally evolve or fade away as priorities shift and new responsibilities emerge. 19:26 If something is not enjoyable, it may not be worth trading precious time away from our children for the sake of money. As parents, our time is a valuable commodity that should be spent intentionally on things that bring joy and fulfillment to our lives. 20:42   Mothering my husband is no longer necessary, as we have evolved into a parenting team focused on our children's well-being. Together, we tackle the challenges of raising our family and work towards shared goals. 5 Secrets To Enjoying The Ride Of Motherhood

5 Top Secrets To Enjoying Motherhood In this episode you’ll learn: 01:28  The challenge of enjoying motherhood 03:14  Leashia’s journey to matrescence 07:15  Secret #1: Lower your expectations 12:31  A parent's guide to age-appropriate discipline 15:19  Secret #2: Let go of perfectionism 16:37  Identifying perfectionism mindset 17:02  Perfectionism in motherhood 18:02  Secret #3: Heal your own wounds 19:31  The truth about parenting triggers 19:52  Secret #4: Slow down - Stop multitasking 25:23 Secret #5: Realize your worth 31:18  Relaunching Emotional Freedom Reset Key Quotes 10:25  Many of our expectations aren't truly our own; they're the ‘should's' of others. The moment we start 'shoulding' ourselves is when we begin to live by someone else's rules. 14:13  Sometimes my kids are not going to listen to me and that’s okay,  I have to respect their needs and allow them to do what feels right for them at that moment, in alignment with their own energy. 18:15  Healing your own wound is the secret to more peace and enjoy more your parenting. 18:55  Our responses to our children are often influenced by our own lens of trauma, conditioning, and beliefs. Sometimes, we fail to see our children as the sovereign beings they are, and we don't trust or treat them as equals. 19:38  Through our children, we have the opportunity to heal and break generational trauma. However, the journey must start with us, and we need to be willing to heal our own wounds. 24:07  Take a moment to explore why you show up as a mom and do the things you do. With so many responsibilities, you don't need to constantly entertain your children. It's okay to let them entertain themselves and be okay to spend a relaxing day at home. 28:16  My children are my greatest teachers, and I am theirs. By being present and seeing them for who they are, they've shown me how to slow down, play, and find joy in life's simple pleasures. 30:11  Until we become aware of our unconscious thoughts and behaviours , we can't fully show up as the person or parent we were meant to be.
