    Ep. 88: Delicate Complexities with Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye Whiskey and Mijenta Tequila Blanco Maestra Selection No.2

    For this show The Boys pair a rye you might not know (but should) and a limited edition tequila you might not find (but should).  The Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye is a 100% rye mash bill and the Mijenta Blanco blends agave from all five states of the official regions of production. There’s a long tangent about limited editions, allocations, the Bourbon arc vs the Tequila arc, Fear Of Missing Out, advertisers, haters, influencers, taters, piñas, industry/market predictions and no real solutions to any of it - if you dare! The only fact we can all agree on is this:  your tasting notes are valid because they are yours. Both spirits are loaded with complex and delicate flavors, but you’ll have to hang on to the end to see how the QuickSips™ turn out. For this show, the Boys sip on bottles that both came from Drew’s shelf: The 10th Anniversary American Single Malt from 10th Mountain, which was bought at the gift shop during a trip to Vail, CO, and the Cambio Tequila Blanco Cellar Series - #4 El Corazon, which was purchased at Sabor y Cultura in Chicago.  Come along as the Boys rant on Dry January, Drew recommendations more Christmas movies, Joby Holland of Fourche Creek lends his musical talents, there are some fantastic QuickSips™ and so much more!     Ep. 84: Celebrating In The Snow - Eagle Rare Single Barrel and El Tequileño 50th Anniversary Añejo

    Pull up a seat and join the Boys as they pair up a couple of bottles that are worth celebrating. Did you know that the Eagle Rare name is fifty years old this year? Well, the Uncertified Whiskey Hunter knows and he’s excited to talk about it. Drew found a real ‘dusty’ on the shelf and it celebrates the 50 years of the El Tequileño distillery.  It’s no coincidence that it’s getting close to Christmas, and these spirits are loaded with some sweet and spice and everything nice to warm your bellies and put a glow on your cheeks. You might have a hard time finding these bottles, but that shouldn’t stop you from grabbing a whiskey and a tequila and sitting down and hanging with the Boys for a spell.     Ep. 83: Black Friday Beauties: Bardstown Bourbon Single Barrel and Maracame Tequila Plata

    For this Black Friday Episode, the boys sip on Maracame Tequila Plata and a Bardstown Bourbon Single Barrel from the Sycamore Whiskey Club. One bottle had been on Drew’s shelf for 4 years, and the other bottle had been on Matt’s shelf for 4 days. As usual, the conversation wanders between relevant and random things like the new Agave Matchmaker app to RoboCop and beyond. The boys are busy spending the Thanksgiving break with their friends and families, and they hope you are as well. After what may be the longest cold open in history, Matt brings a Rittenhouse Rye (Single Barrel from Bourbon Belly Group), Drew brings Tres Agaves Reposado (because the grocery store didn’t have what he originally wanted) and Joby brings his wonderful cover of Bobby McFerrin's “Don’t Worry Be Happy” (if you’re too young to remember Cocktail the movie, we’re sorry).  These concoctions are crushable sipping drinks you will want to try for your next get together.
