Welcome. Grab a cup of tea and let's dive into practical ways to bring the magical into your life. I'm the bridge between the sacred and the science, two master's degrees and nearly two decades in mental health and special education, rooted in a lifetime of Hoodoo practice. Rootwork, divination, ancestral work, astrology, real psychology, no spiritual bypassing, no picking a side. From Psalms and protection work to eclipses and the mystical, this is where practical meets magical.

The Hero's Journey: The Oldest Story Ever Told

A boy leaves his village because his father commands it. He faces something in the forest that nearly destroys him and comes back a completely different person. I could tell you this story from West Africa, ancient Greece, Ireland, Japan, or the Lakota, and you'd recognize every beat of it. In this episode, I break down Joseph Campbell's monomyth, the call, the threshold, the ordeal, the return ; and why the exact same shape shows up in myths from cultures that never spoke to each other. Then I bring it home to what it actually looks like to become a rootworker: the call you didn't ask for, the threshold you can't uncross, the ordeal that tests whether you're really willing to carry this work. This isn't just a story pattern. It's a map of initiation and I think it maps your life too, whether you've ever set foot on a spiritual path or not.

Near-Death Experiences & the Life Review: What My Father Saw

When my father was under anesthesia during heart transplant surgery, he left his body. He watched the surgeons operate on him from above, felt the cold of the ceiling, and told the light he wasn't ready. Then he woke up. In this episode, I share his story and dig into near-death experiences and what researchers call the life review. The widely reported phenomenon of reliving your life's impact on others in a single overwhelming moment. We look at what NDEs across cultures have in common, and how ancestor veneration in Hoodoo has been saying the same thing in different language all along: nothing you do to another person disappears. It gets felt, remembered, and weighed. This one's personal, and it's a reminder that we're always being watched by more than we realize, so it might be time to ask yourself how you'd want to be remembered, right now, not just at the end.

Saint Michael Across Three Traditions: Christianity, Islam, and Working With Him in Hoodoo

September 29th is Michaelmas, the feast day of Saint Michael the Archangel, a figure who shows up with real weight in Christianity, in Islam under the name Mika'il, and in conjure and root work as one of the most called upon protective forces in the tradition. In this episode I walk through who he is across all three, the folklore tied to his feast day, and practical guidance on when and how to work with him.

Anneliese Michel: The Real Story Behind The Exorcism of Emily Rose

If you've ever watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose, you may know it was inspired by a real young woman. Her name was Anneliese Michel. In 1970s Germany, Anneliese was a deeply religious young woman who had already been diagnosed with epilepsy. But as her experiences became increasingly disturbing, her family and Catholic priests began to believe something far more sinister was happening. What followed were 67 exorcism sessions, hours of disturbing recordings, claims of multiple entities, including historical figures, and eventually a criminal trial after Anneliese's death at just 23 years old. So what really happened to Anneliese Michel? In this episode, we go beyond the movie and into the documented story behind one of the most controversial exorcism cases of the 20th century.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: Your Own Shadow Shows up

The Leo eclipse cracked something open. Now its counterpart arrives to finish the job. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse lands at 4 degrees of Pisces on August 27th into the 28th, and unlike a solar eclipse, this one happens because the earth's own shadow falls across the moon, not something external blocking your light, but your own unprocessed material. In this episode, I walk through what makes a lunar eclipse different, why this one is asking for surrender rather than release, and a real ritual you can do at home tonight, water, a candle, and letting go of what you've been holding onto without needing to explain it in words. We also talk about why some things get left behind as you move forward, and why that's not a loss, it's just not where you're meant to be anymore. The Exorcism of Anna Eukland

In 1928, a woman known as Anna Ecklund arrived at a Franciscan convent in the small town of Earling, Iowa. She was about to become the center of one of the most disturbing alleged cases of demonic possession in American history. For nearly a month, priests and nuns reportedly witnessed violent outbursts, terrifying voices, physical struggles, reactions to holy objects, and alleged communications from entities claiming to be demons and even Anna's own father. But the darkest part of the story was the accusation that her father had sexually desired his daughter and, after she rejected him, had placed a curse on her. Was Anna truly possessed? Was she experiencing trauma or a condition that medicine in 1928 couldn't explain? Or was something else happening inside that Iowa convent? In this episode, we step inside the Earling exorcism and follow the story from Anna's troubled childhood through the terrifying events of 1928, the priests and nuns who witnessed them, the alleged entities who spoke through her, and the final night when Father Theophilus Riesinger believed he had finally driven the evil from her. This is a story about faith, trauma, possession, family secrets, and the thin line between the supernatural and the unexplained. Content note: This episode discusses alleged sexual abuse, incest, demonic possession, death, and disturbing religious experiences.

Wednesday, August 12th: Eclipse, Planet Parade & Perseids Explained

Six planets gather before dawn, a total solar eclipse moves through Leo during the day, and the Perseid meteor shower peaks that night, all in a single 24-hour window. Since eclipses only happen at new moons, this is also the biggest new moon of the year. In this episode, I walk through all three events as one complete spiritual sequence: Jupiter's role in the planetary parade and how to set a money intention under that sky, the eclipse's connection to the Leo-Aquarius nodal axis and how to name and release an identity that's ready to close, and the Perseids themselves, including the real history behind their other name, the Tears of Saint Lawrence.

The Numerology of 8/8: This Year's Triple-8 Gateway

Every Lion's Gate post mentions the number 8 in passing and moves on. This episode actually gives it its due. I break down why 8/8 matters numerologically every year, and then show you something most people have missed entirely: the full date 8.8.2026 reduces down to the number 8 itself, three separate times nested inside one date, making this year's portal a genuine Triple-8 Gateway rather than the usual double. I also trace why the number 8 shows up as sacred across ancient Greek, Chinese, and Indian traditions that had zero contact with each other, and what that pattern actually means for what you set into motion this August 8th. Free episode, for everyone.
