This episode was nothing more than a paid commercial for LifeVac. LifeVac uses a self reporting method for the 3000 lives they say were saved and the reporter gets a new LifeVac device in return for the report. Instead of a LifeVac commercial you could have had a podcast on choking as a topic. Dr. Henry Heimlich, the creator of the maneuver, claimed it may have saved over 50,000 lives in the United States alone by 2016, according to his educational institute. Other sources, like a 2016 New York Times article, credit the Heimlich maneuver with saving an estimated 100,000 lives cumulatively worldwide since its introduction in 1974.

I love this show!!! The interviews are so fun and relaxing!!! I loved the interview with the doctor, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, on August 11th. I would love to hear more interviews with her about women’s issues. Thank you.
