Confronting Christianity with Rebecca McLaughlin

I always get a little dopamine hit when I hear the opening music. Rebecca has great guests with interesting stories and areas of expertise. I appreciate the perspectives that address things I’ve been considering and things I never thought to consider. Every time I learn something new and feel like I have a greater appreciation for another glimpse of the world.

I’m a transgender girl who isn’t Christian, I came here to see differing perspectives from my own. The hosts do a wonderful job of being very respectful to others perspectives! I started listening to the “are trans women women?”episode and I feel very safe after hearing it, unlike some other people who engage in that topic. The only thing I didn’t like was the mention of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD) as actual fact. The ROGD study was done in a very inappropriate manner, as the researcher conducting it was very biased and specifically seeked out parents who believed that their children were affected by a social contagion. However this isn’t an academic podcast, it’s a theology podcast, so it’s not that big of a deal that they mentioned it. But otherwise it’s a five star podcast, and definitely a great representative of the best and kindest Christian morals and community

This is one of the few podcasts I never miss an episode of. I absolutely love the vast variety of guests that we get to listen in on. The way Rebecca interacts and challenges ideas never ceases to make me think deeper on my own faith. I just want to thank Kyle for pushing her to start this podcast because it makes such a difference. I would love to hear an episode starring David Bennett on the topic of serving God as a same sex attracted individual because it becomes a larger and larger topic as days go on. I would love the insight and interaction from the fruit produced from such an episode. Thank you for all you do Rebecca, all the love in the world to you and your team.

Love the show. Love how it’s obvious that the audience of believer and skeptic are each considered. I feel like I can recommend this podcast to anyone. Would love an episode on ecclesiology. Specifically the evolution of how we do church. From the OT to the new to all the ways it’s done now. What elements of “the gathering” are non-negotiable and which aren’t? Church models, elders, deacons, ministries, tithing, etc
