    Live Out Your Purpose

After years of warning His people to repent, God allowed Judah to experience exile. Seventy years later, they returned to a ruined land—and Nehemiah, granted favor by the king of Persia, came back to Jerusalem to repair its broken walls. When he saw the devastation, he wept. But in today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds us that Nehemiah did not stop at sorrow. He asked what God would have him do—and then he got to work. Nehemiah chapter 3 gives believers a powerful blueprint for rebuilding what is broken around us. First, God’s work requires all hands on deck. The repeated phrase “next to them” shows the people standing side by side, each one contributing to the mission. When the Church prayerfully works together, God blesses the labor of His people. Second, there is work for everyone. Nehemiah’s people did not merely hope for change or pray from a distance—they cooperated, served, and took responsibility. In the same way, every believer has a role in God’s mission, and no one is insignificant in His Kingdom. Finally, God’s people must encourage and affirm one another in the work. Anyone can complain, criticize, or scoff, but it takes a heart surrendered to God to say, “I want my life to count for something great for Him.” As we confirm a servant spirit, godly character, commitment to the Lord, and faithful obedience, God revives our hearts and bears witness through us to the world that Jesus Christ is the only true foundation. Let us pray.  Precious Lord, give me eyes to see my gifts and wisdom to use them for Your Kingdom in the body of believers. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Use Your God-Given Gift

The Church is the body of Christ, made up of many diverse parts working together under the direction of the Head—Jesus Himself. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains that every believer has a God-given role, and every local church must be built upon Christ to be effective for His Kingdom. The problem comes when members of the body neglect their gifts or covet the gifts of others. Paul rebuked the Corinthians for forgetting that God Himself places each part in the body exactly as He desires. When believers refuse to use their gifts, they are resisting the Lord’s wise purpose for their lives. Dr. Youssef reminds us that some of the most history-shaping servants of God are virtually unknown. The people who taught, prayed, gave, discipled, and supported behind the scenes may never have become famous, but their faithfulness helped advance the Gospel through figures like Martin Luther, D. L. Moody, and William Carey. No gift is too small, too hidden, or too ordinary when it is surrendered to Christ. God has a plan and purpose for you in His Church—for your good and for His glory. Let us pray.  Precious Lord, use me for Your Kingdom in the body of believers. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Made for Connection

Scripture declares that God has laid a tested and precious cornerstone in Zion—a sure foundation for all who rely on Him. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains that Jesus Christ is that cornerstone, the foundation upon which the Church is built. In the ancient world, the cornerstone determined the strength, shape, cohesion, and symmetry of the entire building. If the cornerstone was wrong, the structure would eventually collapse. In the same way, every life, home, ministry, and church must be built in relationship to Christ. He is the Living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him. Peter also tells believers something remarkable: those who come to Christ are living stones, being built into a spiritual house. That means Christians are not meant to live detached from the Church. A stone is made for building, and a “rolling stone Christian” is not fulfilling God’s purpose. It is in the gathered, Gospel-shaped community of the Church that believers become effective witnesses for God’s Kingdom. Dr. Youssef reminds us that every person who receives Jesus as Savior and Lord becomes part of a holy priesthood and a royal priesthood—related to God by redemption, calling, and adoption. When you grasp the magnificence of this identity, you will never see yourself as average again. Prayer: Father, forgive me for neglecting my role in Your Church. Use me in Your living temple for its strengthening and Your glory. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:5). True Freedom

Satan’s deception is subtle: he entices people into slavery by calling it freedom. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef turns to 2 Peter 2:17–22 to warn believers against false teachers who twist God’s grace into a license for sin. Peter exposes the danger of a counterfeit freedom that promises liberty while leading people back into bondage. Scripture makes clear that before Christ, we were slaves to sin—but through His saving power, we have been set free from that merciless master. Christian freedom is not the ability to indulge every desire; it is the power, by the Holy Spirit, to say no to unrighteousness and yes to joyful obedience. Dr. Youssef reminds us that cheap grace is not Biblical grace. Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands.” True freedom is found in belonging to the Son, serving Him with a whole heart, and walking in holiness. It is never too late to receive Christ’s freedom. Ask Him to free you, train your heart to reject unrighteousness, and live today as one who is truly free indeed. Prayer: Lord, I rejoice in the freedom You have secured for me in Christ—freedom to live in the peace and joy of holiness. Show me how I can serve You today. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.  “They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for ‘people are slaves to whatever has mastered them’” (2 Peter 2:19).  Learn more in Dr. Michael A. He Is Our Rock

Jesus promised that trouble would come in this world—but He also promised His overcoming peace. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef turns to Psalm 28 and the life of David to show where believers should go when hardships threaten to overwhelm them. David knew trouble well. He faced Saul’s jealousy, years of hiding in caves, battles over the throne, devastating sin, family strife, the loss of children, and even betrayal from his own son. Yet again and again, David brought his distress, failure, and fear before the merciful God who never changes. Psalm 28 captures David’s cry: “To you, LORD, I call; you are my Rock.” God is called the Rock because He is changeless, permanent, invincible, and immovable. Circumstances shift. Emotions rise and fall. People fail. But God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever—and every promise He has made will stand. When life feels unbearable, don’t run from God. Run to Him. He is faithful even when we are not, and He promises never to leave or forsake His children. Prayer: Lord, You are my rock and my salvation. Help me to build my life on You, experiencing Your faithfulness and love in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.  “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Psalm 18:2).  Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Keep Calm and Look Up

King Saul was hunting David, determined to kill the man God had anointed to take his place. Then, in a moment that seemed perfectly arranged for revenge, Saul entered the very cave where David and his men were hiding. David had the opportunity to end his suffering—but instead of killing Saul, he cut off a corner of Saul’s robe and spared his life. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef points to David’s restraint as a powerful example of faith in God’s justice. David could have justified vengeance, especially after years of running for his life while Saul remained safe in the palace. But David knew a Truth declared throughout Scripture: God is the righteous Judge. Psalm 37 reveals David’s hard-won confidence. Though the wicked may appear successful for a season, their triumph is temporary. God sees every injustice, every plot, every cruelty, and every hidden motive—and He will make all things right in His time. When you are mistreated, overlooked, or tempted to envy the temporary success of the wicked, don’t lose heart. Keep calm. Look up. Your heavenly Father is sovereign, and the meek will inherit His promised peace. Prayer: Lord, may I be filled with compassion and also find comfort in the promise that evil will receive Your righteous judgment. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.  “A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity” (Psalm 37:10-11). All My Fountains

Where are your fountains? Are they in material things, physical fitness, relationships, career success, reputation, family name, or personal identity? In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on Psalm 87:7 and the joyful confession of every surrendered believer: “All my fountains are in you.” Everything in this world is unstable. Financial markets rise and fall. Friends and family—even Christian friends—may fail us. Titles, reputations, and accomplishments can fade. But the grace of God never fails. The peace Christ purchased at the cross will never run dry because it flows from His inexhaustible fountain of grace. Dr. Youssef explains that true peace means being bound together by the unearned, unmerited love of God. Only His matchless grace can bind a fragmented heart, restore broken relationships, reconcile families and communities, and make believers ambassadors of His eternal Kingdom. Jesus is the Rock of Ages and the source of living water, promising that rivers of living water will flow from within all who believe in Him. When your hope is rooted in Christ alone, you will never run dry. You will become a peacemaker, a messenger of grace, and a true friend to the lost as you share the hope that never disappoints. Prayer: God, I pray that all my fountains would be in You alone. Thank You for Your inexhaustible fountain of grace. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “As they make music they will sing, ‘All my fountains are in you’” (Psalm 87:7). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. From Every Corner

We all long for peace. The ancient people of God longed for it, too—looking forward to the day when God Himself would establish true and lasting peace. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on Psalm 87 and its vision of people from every nation coming together in God’s holy city. The psalmist looked ahead to a day when believers from every corner of the globe would be united in love for God and one another. That holy city is founded on the Rock of Ages, the Lord Jesus Christ. Any ministry, church, home, or life not built on Him will eventually crumble, because every foundation apart from Christ is sinking sand. Dr. Youssef points to Revelation’s breathtaking picture of a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language standing before the throne and before the Lamb. Our God is not a local or tribal deity—He is the God of the universe. He loves all people everywhere, equally, and His saving purpose extends to the ends of the earth. When we focus only on our little world and our little problems, we miss the joy of participating in God’s global purpose. This devotional will lift your eyes to the mission revealed even before Christ’s birth: that people everywhere would come to know God intimately through His Son, Jesus Christ. Prayer: Father, help me to remember that You are a global God and that You care about everyone, everywhere. Thank You for the promise of peace with You and all people in Your holy city to come. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me—Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush—and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion’” (Psalm 87:4).
