Episode 49-"Is there ever a time I should wake my sleeping child?"

I am sure you have heard the term, “never wake a sleeping baby”. However, this my friends is not correct! If we allow a child to sleep as long as they want to for some nap/s it can affect other elements to a successful 24 hour sleep cycle. A child can only sleep a certain amount (depending on their age and their own sleep needs), and just because we may enjoy the 2 hour break in the middle of the day it doesnt mean they are capable of sleeping that duration of nap AND a full 12 hours over night. If your child is above 4 months old and you are wanting to start establishing a regular feeding and sleep routine OR if you are having issues with night waking, early rising or long naps…listen up! Too much day sleep can result in:  -difficulty settling your child at bedtime -experiencing night wakes -or early rising  But how do you fix these issues?! This can be the tricky part.  You may not know the optimal and correct nap times, nap durations, awake times, bedtime for your child's age.  Dont worry! I have an epic download designed just for you and for these problems which so many parents experience. Its in my affordable guide Ultimate Feeding and Sleep Guide!   Show Notes To grab your Ultimate Feeding and Sleep Guide to crack the code of routines and optimal sleep durations for your child which will solve their night wakening and early rising head to Ultimate Sleep & Feeding Guide — The Holistic Sleep Project/ Podcast Episode referred to during this episode which is useful if you have a child on 1 nap or you think needs to be transferred to 1 nap. Ep 48 Why is nap placement so important to my child’s sleep?

My baby is asleep! Phew! That's enough right?  Not really! If you are experiencing:  short naps struggling to get your child to sleep (and stay asleep sometimes) not knowing when to feed snack feeding what looks like "fussy eating" or less than optimal amounts of solids night wakes early rising grumpy moodsThe placement of naps is KEY to avoiding all of these less than desirable parts of your baby or toddler's sleep experience.  Your child's naps need to be placed at particular times of day and be for particular duration of sleep in order to have a:  -well rested child  -make feeding easy and straight forward  -to make settling easy  -to achieve long rejuvenating naps  -avoid night wakes  -say goodbye to early rising  In this episode we explore the concept of "nap placement" and why you need to know this and implement it into your child's sleep for their development and your anxiety and energy levels!  Listen here!  SHOW NOTES:  -DM me over on Instagram to book in a 30 min Discovery Call to discuss how I can get your more sleep! Ep 47 Margaret wants you to listen to this episode..she believes it’s your sign to take the first step!

Its great to be back!  In this episode Marg speaks candidly about her shock of the conflicting information between social media/sleep school, compared to the information and experience she had at The Holistic Sleep Project as she attempted to solve her little one's sleep challenges.  Baby Lainey was awake between 5-18x a night, she was either being fed or rocked but to sleep each time. She was only having short and inconsistent naps. Margaret (despite having support) questioned how she could continue to work, start her child at child care and was filled with guilt and shame as she couldn't help her baby sleep well.  She talks at length about her experience at sleep school and how vastly different it was to the work we fulfilled together.  Margaret is transparent and articulate in this episode as she explains her experience with struggling with strong emotions, the conflicting information online, thinking her baby had low sleep needs, comparing herself to others and the prospect of being unable to continue to pursue  upcoming stages in her family (work, sickness and childcare) when she and her partner just couldn't get their child to sleep despite trying everything they thought was possible.  No matter how much youre struggling with sleep issues, this is the episode for you! You will see yourself in Margaret and Lainey and her advice about what to do next will be lifechanging. I assure you.  SHOW NOTES  Margaret's Life changing words/review she speaks about throughout the podcast https://www.instagram.com/p/DKWh6hEz717/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Send me an email georgina@theholisticsleepproject  if you are thinking about working together and let's tee up a Discovery call  Check out the guide Margaret refers to in the Episode- Ultimate Feeding and Sleeping Guide for all the routines you will need for the first 3 years of your child's life https://www.theholisticsleepproject.com/store/p/ultimate-sleep-feeding-guide

EPISODE 46 - “Supporting her child to get more sleep has changed Trish’s life!”

In this episode, Trish (mum of James, 16 months old) candidly shares what sleep was like for her and her family up until her child was 16 months old. Her intuition told her this wasn’t the way it was supposed to be, and that she should be getting more sleep now that her child was getting older. Her mental health was suffering, as well as her connection with her beautiful baby boy and her relationship. She explains the final straw that led her to reach out, why she connected with The Holistic Sleep Project’s philosophy, and how the entire process was for her and her child. In Trish’s own words, this sleep transformation has completely changed her life! Listen to her story here. Your links: Resonate with Trish’s story and how she was feeling before she sought support? EPISODE 45 - “Consistency is the secret sauce to more sleep!””

Feel like you're being consistent with your child’s bedtime? Feel like you respond the same way every single time your child wakes? Feel like you put them down for naps at the same time every day and they sleep for the same duration each time? In this episode, I pose some key questions to determine if you’re truly being consistent with your child's sleep, or how consistent. If we aren’t consistent with our child’s sleep (and everything related to it!), we can create confusion and often overstimulation, which isn’t helpful for fostering more sleep. This episode explores at least three ways to start building more consistency, improve your child's day and night sleep through routine, and offers several methods of support if you’re struggling to achieve this on your own! Listen and learn how to become more consistent here! Your Links: Grab your Ultimate Sleep and Feeding Guide: Routines from birth to 3 years old here! EPISODE 44 - Should I put a gate on my child’s room to get more sleep?

In this episode, we explore the notion of putting a baby gate on your child’s bedroom door in an attempt to get more sleep as we prevent them from getting out of their bedroom.  Parents often make big bold and sometimes drastic changes in an attempt to have their child sleep for longer or in this case not leave their room overnight.  However, I see putting a baby gate on as a last result. Why? This is broken down for you in this episode as I explain what else needs to come first to fix the issue of your child leaving their bedroom overnight and why you are experiencing this in your home.  In addition, a few scenarios are explained through the episode so you can see how to present this bold move and still get the sleep you and your child are looking for!  Your Links and Resources: Looking for sleep solutions and to be part of a supportive and non-judgmental group?
