    8. How To Create A Healthy Mindset During The Holiday Season

    Thanksgiving holiday can be a stressful time for many who are trying to reach weight based goals and maintain healthy routines. But, I want to encourage you with this fresh revelation God has graciously shared with me: enter into this season with thanksgiving in your heart! I know that may seem silly, but isn’t this why we are gathering? To come around the table and eat with our loved ones who we cherish and reflect on the things we are all grateful for. Family can be stressful, but you control the atmosphere you want to have. If you want it to be “stressful” and “annoying,” then act on that attitude, however, if you take your thoughts captive like Scripture says and change your thoughts from negative to celebration it ultimately changes your heart which will change the way you speak and act which creates the atmosphere you are in. The atmosphere will shift only when your mindset does. With that being said, I want to share a mindset shift when it comes to this holiday that’s centered around the table. In this podcast I share this new mindset I am taking with me on Thanksgiving day as well as my healthy Do's and Don'ts this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I share nutrition and fitness tips and tricks to keep you going strong without spiraling into old patters and negative thoughts.  What you do consistently day in and day out is what really matters.     6. Three Keys To Reset Your Health Today

    In today's podcast, I share my three keys to restart your health journey today! I find a lot of women live in guilt and shame around food and body image. The "all or nothing" mindset is something diet culture has created and it is not sustainable. What is true is that we are humans and there are times we may over indulge, but does that make us a failure? The answer to that question is a resounding no!  If you are struggling with this mindset, I want you think think about your health and wellness journey similarly like your faith journey. Once we give our lives to Christ, does that mean we will never sin again? No and let me be clear here, I am not saying to make allowances for our sin for that would contradict the word of God. What I am saying is that by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, we begin to walk away from sin and quickly run to His feet especially after we recognize our mistake and ask for His mercy to come in and cover us.  I find that when women are overindulging outside of a celebratory occasion or night and more of a daily struggle, it is purely a habit of eating your feelings instead of surrendering them to the Lord. Sister, please hear me when I say, I am not judging you. How could I when I myself have struggled with a similar thing? What I am saying is what your body is really hungry for is intimacy and that is found in the arms our Jesus. I want to encourage you to ask Holy Spirit to break the chains of addiction and to give you the courage to deny your flesh its comfort so you can experience His peace.  You have the ability to walk towards your health and begin your journey again TODAY! What we do daily matters the most, and I want to share with you three keys that will unlock your health and transform your life. speak life over yourself the way God does (stop the negative shaming talk) eat a balanced meal with the LWD #fivethrive (fuel your body with the right things don't starve out of guilt or shame) walk outdoors to refresh your spirit aka activate your #restanddigest (talk your feelings out with the Lord instead of eating them) You are not a failure, you just need to be encouraged to begin again! p.s. are you menopausal and needing help???     5. Does Our Metabolism Change As We Age?

    In today's podcast, we ask this question and find that age is not the contributing factor to metabolic changes within women's health. Resent studies show that total energy expenditure remained consistently stable from ages 20-late 50s. The study suggested that our metabolism doesn't begin to decline until after age 60.  What we do know is muscle burns more calories than fat and women see a percentage of muscle decline after age 30. This leaves us with the conclusion that increasing muscle mass and caring for the longevity of our cells are key.  In the modern world, we are seeing more cellular damage due to increased radiation exposure in technology, endocrine system disruptors in toxic chemicals found in personal care products and cleaning supplies, as well as increase in synthetic supplements and processed foods. As we age, our cells slow down and this relationship to our bodies ability to be metabolically flexible needs to be further examined.  Over the last week, I saw three new potential clients who all said the exact same thing, "I have gained roughly 10 pounds in my lower belly area and haven't changed a thing in my routine." What these three women all had in common was where they were hormonally. When women enter into peri menopause, which is around age 40, they begin to see a shift in their baseline cortisol which is the driving force for the lower belly weight gain, but when it comes to seeing a quick shift in your metabolism, that is due to the change in estrogen. No matter how much you are moving your body, if you are not fueling your body appropriately, fat loss and muscle gain will simply not happen.  A few things I do to promote healthy, physical change in the body without the use of hormone replacement therapy is: Balance blood sugar with diet, fasting, and movement Stress the body with external stress to change the body's adaptations like estrogen use to with a customized workout routine Support nervous system with rest and digest protocol Support liver with supplements and nutrition I have found that when women who are no longer cycling begin to train their bodies to what is going on internally, they see a shift in insulin sensitivity which allows your body to burn fat, increase energy, enhance cognitive function, and reach weight based goals.     4. Fasting For Weight Loss: A Biblical Perspective

    I am so excited to have this conversation with you all. Before we unpack the good and the bad behind fasting, let's first turn to scripture. Matthew 6:33 says, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." When we are fasting to seek to benefit our flesh over developing intimacy with the Lord, fasting then becomes an unhealthy mindset.  In today's episode, I break down these three things: 1. Why we should all practice fasting: a. Godly principle that develops intimacy with the Lord b. Healing tool to strengthen our gut line barrier and create cellular renewal within the body c.     2: Unpacking The LWD Method With Liv
