Chargers’ nightmare continues: 0-4 after Seahawks loss | Herbert battered again | Full reaction

Send us Fan Mail The Chargers are 0-4 after falling 30-23 to the Seattle Seahawks, but Justin Herbert showed plenty of fight in the second half despite taking a beating. Herbert lost Rashawn Slater, Joe Alt and Trevor Penning along the offensive line, while Ladd McConkey also missed the second half. Still, Herbert helped the Chargers battle back from a 27-6 deficit and get within seven points before former Charger Uchenna Nwosu’s strip-sack ended the game. The bigger question now: What does Jim Harbaugh do with this offense? Herbert and Mike McDaniel still don’t look completely comfortable together, and through four games the offense has been plagued by turnovers, penalties, questionable play calling and inconsistency. Fernando breaks down the 0-4 start, Herbert’s gutsy second half, the offensive line injuries and why it might be time for Harbaugh and McDaniel to make some serious changes. Send us Fan Mail The new-look Los Angeles Chargers failed their first test of the season, falling 26-14 to the Arizona Cardinals in an ugly performance at SoFi Stadium. After an offseason filled with optimism surrounding Jim Harbaugh’s revamped coaching staff, the Chargers struggled in all three phases. Mike McDaniel’s offense showed flashes with Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey and Omarion Hampton, but turnovers, penalties and mistakes proved costly. Chris O’Leary’s defense had trouble slowing down Jacoby Brissett and Trey McBride, while a blocked punt added to the problems on special teams. What went wrong for the Chargers? How concerning was the offensive line rotation at left guard? And can Harbaugh, McDaniel and O’Leary get things cleaned up before Week 2? The Ramirez Brothers breaks down the Chargers’ disappointing season-opening loss and what it means moving forward.
