    Questions about Jesus' Deity in Mark 6:45-52 - Part 2

    Did Jesus really claim to be God in Mark 6 when he stood on the waves during a storm? Some translators depict Jesus as using God's divine name "I AM" to identify himself, while others translated his words as "it is I." As it turns out, both are valid translations. In part 1 we discussed the context of this story and why it supports a depiction of Jesus as God. In part 2, we'll explain why Bible translators may have opted for the translation "it is I" instead of "I AM," and discuss questions surrounding the translation of Jesus' words from Aramaic to Greek.     Secrets of Jesus in Exodus 23: A Deeper Dive

    Did you know there's a strong case that Jesus actually led the Exodus and the conquest of Canaan himself? Scripture might actually back that up! There was an old forgotten Jewish view called the Two Powers in Heaven that described God appearing in the form of a man or angel in the Old Testament. It's a view that can be found throughout the Old Testament in many book, particularly in the first five books of the Bible. On this podcast we'll discuss this views as well as some counter opinions by John H. Walton. We hope this will give you a good understanding of both views and help you decide which view you think makes the most sense.     Does the gospel of Mark say Jesus is God? - Analyzing Mark 1:1

    Did the Gospel of Mark present Jesus as merely human or as God? Mark 1:1 presents Jesus as the Son of God, but some say that title means he was simply a believer in God. Others say it means he was the literal son of God Himself. So which did Mark mean? It's easy to miss what Mark was trying to say because Mark didn't write his gospel using modern language and phrases. Because of this, we have to work quite a bit harder to understand what Mark was really trying to say.
