    Auburn Tigers vs Tennessee Volunteers

General Arlis Boardingham: https://x.com/GeneralArlis Welcome into season 5 of the good, old fashioned dislike podcast where dynasties never die and “hate” is an extreme word but just barely. On this podcast we pick a football rivalry and we submit that rivalry to the “panel of dislike”. They will come up with reasons why we like one team, dislike one team and vice versa. By the end we come to a conclusion of where our football loyalties lie mainly based on non-football things but that’s what’s so much fun! Be sure to tell us in the comments who you’re rooting for when the Auburn Tigers travel to Rocky Top to tangle with the Tennessee Volunteers! These teams met for the first time on November 10,1900. Auburn leads the series 29-22-3. Auburn went 5-7 in 2025. Tennessee finished 8-5. Auburn won the last meeting in 2020, 30-17. What If 1997 Division 1 College Football Had A Playoff?

1997: This was the year when Michigan's defense was suffocating opponents, Nebraska was closing the curtain on Tom Osborne's legendary career, and the biggest debate in America wasn't whether Jack could have fit on the door in Titanic—it was whether Michigan or Nebraska deserved to be called national champion. Back then, the Bowl Alliance was supposed to help college football crown a true No. 1. Spoiler alert: it didn't. Because while Michigan was celebrating a Rose Bowl victory over Washington State, Nebraska was dismantling Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. The polls split. The trophies split. And one of the greatest arguments in college football history was born. Meanwhile, Titanic was breaking box-office records, people were tying up the family phone line to connect to the internet, but today… we're rewriting history. Let’s build the bracket: Michigan Wolverines Nebraska Cornhuskers Tennessee Volunteers Florida State Seminoles UCLA Bruins Florida Gators North Carolina Tar Heels Washington State Cougars Ohio State Buckeyes Kansas State Wildcats Penn State Nittany Lions Colorado State Rams (18) First team out: Georgia Bulldogs Links mentioned in this episode: **Join our free private group https://www.facebook.com/groups/benandtravis Get our free ebook "28 Days of Focused Living" here: https://www.benandtravis.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/benandtravis Reframing Hope Book: https://www.benandtravis.com/books For extra content and material you can use for your family or ministry go to https://www.patreon.com/benandtravis Represent the show: https://www.benandtravis.com/store Helping Healing Humor with Ben and Travis: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/helping-healing-humor/id1457601152 The Friday ReFresh: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-friday-refresh/id1611969995 Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dislike/support Co-Producers: Justin B., Doris C., Rhonda F., Scott K., Mary H., Scott B. What If 1996 Division 1 College Football Had A Playoff?

Great Scott… the flux capacitor is charged, the DeLorean is idling, and we’ve punched in a new destination: the 1996 college football season. This was the year Danny Wuerffel turned the Fun ’n Gun into a full-blown football flamethrower, Steve Spurrier finally climbed the mountain in Gainesville, and the Florida Gators football got their long-awaited shot at revenge against Florida State Seminoles football after that regular season classic in Tallahassee. Back then, college football still lived in the strange world of bowl alliances, poll voters, and “well… we think these are the two best teams.” Spoiler alert: nobody really knew. Because while Florida and Florida State were throwing haymakers, teams all across the country were left wondering what might’ve happened if they’d gotten a shot in a real playoff. Florida State Arizona State Florida Ohio State BYU Nebraska Penn State Colorado Tennessee Virginia Tech Northwestern North Carolina First team out: 13.
