I’ve enjoyed the content of Dale‘s other podcast, Real Christianity, and this podcast has been a nice explanation of his thought provoking concept of doing house church. After reading his book “How we do House Church,“ I had more in-depth questions about logistics and the heart behind some of the topics covered in the book. This podcast has been a nice expansion of those concepts. I love the idea of bringing church away from the big, commercial entity that it has become, making it easier for the world’s agenda to creep in, as well as a place that someone can slip in, sit in the back pew, and then slip out at the end of church to just “check the church box” for the week. It’s easy to think “The Church” will take care of things when someone needs help and to become disconnected from the needs of others when in a big church body that isn’t set up to shepherd and disciple the members in a way that all are participating. While we do not have a house church in the Reformation Fellowship network in our area, this has inspired us to seek a smaller church body that is very intentional about living life together!
