Love Thy Body: Interview with Prof. Nancy Pearcey | Lovin' Truth Podcast - Ep. 6

Why is the Bible such a killjoy when it comes to issues like abortion, homosexuality, and casual sex/hookups? Why do Christians preach against these things? In this interview episode with Professor Nancy Pearcey, we discuss her book, which aptly addresses these questions from a biblical perspective, helping Christians engage with love and truth in these hot-button discussions and become more deeply rooted in their beliefs. Moving beyond a list of “Thou shalt nots,” this conversation uncovers the reasons behind what can often feel like the Bible’s buzzkill takes, revealing instead a life-giving vision that makes sense of God’s design, and exposing the nihilistic, self-deprecating secular worldview that is implicitly or explicitly held by those who engage in such behaviour. Nancy Pearcey is the author of Love Thy Body: Answering Hard Questions about Life and Sexuality, as well as The Toxic War on Masculinity, The Soul of Science, Saving Leonardo, Finding Truth, and two ECPA Gold Medallion Award Winners: How Now Shall We Live (coauthored with Harold Fickett and Chuck Colson) and Total Truth. Her books have been translated into 20 languages. She is professor and scholar in residence at Houston Christian University. A former agnostic, Pearcey has spoken at universities such as Princeton, Stanford, USC, and Dartmouth. She has been quoted in The New Yorker and Newsweek, highlighted as one of the five top women apologists by Christianity Today, and hailed in The Economist as "America's pre-eminent evangelical Protestant female intellectual." Why do you believe? | Episode 4

Why are you a Christian or Muslim , Hindu, Buddhist ? Why do you follow after the African Traditional Religion? Why do you believe what you do? Or why do you not believe? This is a question as sensible as “Why do you choose that man or woman as spouse?” Or “Why do you go to school?” Or any other life defining question ever asked. Our beliefs influence our actions and thus have consequences. What are the consequences from your belief system? In this episode I share some Christian apologetics(defense/reasons for the faith), and evidence that there is a god at all….after all, “The fool says in his heart there’s no God” . Don’t be one of them 😅 *wrote this description on April 1st 🤭 Links for further research: 1. Millennials leaving the church: https://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/12/living/pew-religion-study/index.html 2.
