    Has the Pro-Life Movement Lost Its Focus?

    The pro-life movement is not having one conversation right now. It has several, and they do not always agree with each other. Scott and Marcie discuss the Massachusetts bill that would allow abortion up to birth and the question it raises about messaging: As the movement has shifted its focus toward the mother, has it made a strategic mistake by stepping back from talking about the baby? They discuss fetal pain—what it is, how it shapes the conversation, and why some in the movement have moved away from talking about it.     What If Family Is Being Redefined Without You Knowing?

    The redefinition of the family is not happening all at once. It is happening one sentence at a time, buried inside 80-page bills that most lawmakers never fully read, drafted by legal bodies most people have never heard of, and framed as routine updates to reflect the modern reality of family life. Patience Sunne, Engagement Director at Them Before Us, has been reading those bills. She joins Dear Jane to talk about what is actually in them: the removal of mother and father language from parentage laws, the legalization of surrogacy without a single background check, the quiet allowance of poly parenting slipped into a single line of code, and what any of it means for the child at the center of all of it.     What Finally Made an Abortion Clinic Nurse Walk Away

    She was a nurse. She believed she was providing care and helping women. She had no idea what she was walking into. Naomi Padilla spent four years inside a Tampa abortion clinic where, she says, surgical suites were wiped down with a household cleaner, women were processed like cattle, and the words baby and God weren't allowed to be spoken. A woman who said she wasn't sure was still ushered through the abortion process. A woman who called back, saying she was on the brink of taking her own life, received no emergency intervention. No one called 911. And the number of procedures completed determined whether the staff got pizza or “the good lunch.” When Naomi later met former abortion workers from across the country, she realized her clinic was not an isolated case. More than 700 workers have connected with And Then There Were None, many of whom have described similar experiences. Then one day, a patient offered her $50 just to hear her baby’s heartbeat. Naomi had not heard one in two years. Everything began to change. Today, Naomi is part of And Then There Were None, an organization that helps abortion workers leave the industry and begin healing. She joins Dear Jane to tell the story of what she witnessed, what finally changed her mind, and why she believes her story is only one of many.

    The Legal War on Pregnancy Centers, Abortion Pill Reversal, and the Women Behind the Cases

    The New Jersey attorney general created a strike force to investigate pro-life pregnancy centers. One of those centers received a subpoena demanding ten years of private donor records. No complaints had been filed. No fraud had been alleged. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court, which ruled unanimously in the pregnancy center's favor. Twenty-four hours later, the state found a way to keep fighting anyway. That is just one case. In New York and California, attorneys general are trying to silence pregnancy centers for simply telling women that abortion pill reversal exists. In Louisiana, a woman's ex-boyfriend ordered mifepristone online and coerced her to take it. And the drug whose label says one in twenty-five women will end up in the emergency room is now available to anyone with a few minutes and an internet connection. Gabriella McIntyre is an attorney with the Alliance Defending Freedom.
