The Great Equalizer | Ecclesiastes 9:1-12

Death comes for everyone, kings and paupers alike, so what do we do with that? In this message on Ecclesiastes 9:1-12, we explore the teacher's blunt reminder that life is fleeting and no one escapes the grave, from ancient Roman generals reminded of their mortality mid-parade to the chaos of the 1904 Olympic marathon. But rather than leaving us in despair, this passage points us toward living fully, enjoying the gifts we've been given, and trusting that we rest in good hands. We close with an imagined conversation between the teacher and Jesus, and a reminder that because we live on this side of the resurrection, we know exactly what awaits us next. tulipstreet.com

Where Is the Justice? | Ecclesiastes 8

Why do bad leaders get away with so much? Why do wicked people get honored while good people get bullied and broken down? In Ecclesiastes 8, the Teacher takes on the unfairness of life under the sun. We look at how to respond to bad leaders with obedience and discernment, why justice and revenge are not the same thing, and why comparing ourselves to other sinners misses the point. Along the way, we find hope in the fear of the Lord, the promise of true justice, and a God who sees far more than we do. If you're in a hard season, this message is for you.

The Grand Irony | Ecclesiastes 7

In this message from our series through Ecclesiastes, "The Key," we dig into chapter 7, where the Teacher lays out one ironic observation after another about how life is supposed to work and how it actually plays out. He wrestles honestly with the problem of suffering, the limits of human wisdom, and the frustration of trying to earn righteousness on your own terms, before landing on a hard but hopeful truth: our brokenness may be our fault, but it doesn't have to be our fate. We'll trace how this "dark night of the soul" connects to Jesus in Gethsemane and to Paul's teaching on the wisdom of the cross in 1 Corinthians.

    Money Problems | Ecclesiastes 5:8 - 6:12

Money is everywhere in the news, but Ecclesiastes 5-6 got there first. In this message, we look at what a 2005 Yale study on money-trading monkeys (and a surprising follow-up with cooperative parrots) reveals about corruption, greed, and inequality, then turn to the Teacher's own diagnosis of our money problems: nothing ever feels like enough, wealth can be hoarded or lost in tragic ways, and even getting everything you want leaves you empty. We trace how Jesus flips the script on money and power, and land on the real solution: joy, contentment, and trusting God's sovereignty over our finances instead of our own grip on them. Scripture: Ecclesiastes 5:8-6:12.

Silence the Noise | Ecclesiastes 5:1-7

We're surrounded by more noise than ever, thousands of ads a day, hours of podcasts and video, and it's changing how we engage with faith. In this message from Ecclesiastes 5:1-7, we look at what it actually means to guard your steps when you approach God: drawing near to listen (and obey), fulfilling the vows and promises we make to him, and living with a right fear of the Lord. It's a call to trade rambling words and empty routine for real attention, real obedience, and real silence before God.

    Better Than | Ecclesiastes 4

In this sermon, we dig into Ecclesiastes 4 and its string of "better than" observations, a kind of would-you-rather from the Teacher himself. We trace how oppression, envy, isolation, and unstable leadership form a downward spiral that can pull a whole society apart, and then look at the off-ramps scripture offers: justice and love of neighbor, contentment and Sabbath rest, real community, and wise leadership under the kingship of Christ. It's a hard look at the world we're building and an invitation to help turn it upside down instead.

    A Matter of Time | Ecclesiastes 3

In this message from Ecclesiastes 3, we dig into the ancient poem that inspired The Byrds' "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and ask the question Augustine couldn't fully answer: what is time? We look at the two different Hebrew words for time, the illusion of control we all live under, and why God has set eternity in the human heart even though we can't see the full picture of what He's doing. From corrupted courts to Rembrandt's tapestry to a clip from Dead Poets Society, this sermon lands on one challenge: seize the day, and redeem the time you've been given.

An Unfulfilling Journey | Ecclesiastes 2

The Teacher of Ecclesiastes goes searching for meaning, testing wisdom, pleasure, and success one at a time to see if anything under the sun actually lasts. In this study of Ecclesiastes 1:12-2:26, we trace his journey through each pursuit, the sorrow that comes with wisdom, the emptiness that follows pleasure, the frustration of building something you'll eventually hand off to someone else, and land on the surprising turn where purpose isn't something we find but something God creates in us as we stay faithful to him.
