God’s Counter Decree

This sermon wraps up the Esther series by studying one of the heaviest parts of this book: the killing of thousands at the book's close. This ending reveals something about God's judgment against sin. We trace how that judgment, poured out on Persia, points forward to the cross where Jesus absorbed the wrath that our own sin deserved. If passages like this have ever been a stumbling block for you, this message will help you see how God's justice and his mercy meet at exactly the same place.

The Paradox of Pride

Haman had wealth, status, the king's ear, and it still wasn't enough. In this message from Esther 5-7, we dig into how pride quietly runs every one of us, the toll it takes when left unchecked, and the surprising paradox at its center.

A Courageous Calling

When chaos suddenly explodes into your world, where do you find courage? In chapter 4, Esther has to choose between silence and risking everything to save her people from genocide. In this message, we look at three truths for facing our own chaos, and how real courage comes from fixing our eyes on Jesus.

God's Unseen Providence

The Persian Empire seemed unstoppable, its king untouchable, and its treatment of women brutal. Into that broken system steps a Jewish orphan named Esther, and though God's name never appears once in her story, His hand is everywhere. In this message, we walk through Esther 1 and 2 to see how God works through the quiet, easy-to-miss "coincidences" of ordinary life.

Joining God in Our Own Transformation

Are you actually being transformed into someone more Christ-like, or does your life look about the same as it did a few years ago? In this final Vision Series message from Philippians 3:12-21, we explore why real change takes effort, not just belief, and how imitating Godly examples puts us in position for God to do what only he can do.

Where We Exist: The Vision is Channelside

Our vision isn't a building or a growth chart... It's a place: Channelside. In this message, we unpack why the church's mission is tied to this specific stretch of downtown Tampa, tracing the theme of place through Paul's ministry in 2 Corinthians and the call to the exiles in Jeremiah 29. Our church is choosing to love, relate to, pray for, and stay in this city God has assigned us.

Why We Exist: An Invitation to Identity

In this message, we look at Philippians 3:1-11 to understand the importance of where we root our sense of self. Drawing on Paul's own resume of achievements (and his surprising verdict on it), this message asks what happens when the things we build our identity on get stripped away, and points to the only identity secure enough to hold up.

The Subtlest Form of Pride

In this message, we look at Acts 12 and King Herod's sudden downfall. Herod was truck down not for his violence against the church, but for accepting praise that belonged to God alone. It's a challenge to examine the quiet pride in our own hearts, and a reminder that we can only give God the glory he deserves once we understand how Christ has rescued us from sin and set us free to live for him.
