    4 8 Community First: Co-op Month/Days of Service October is Co-op Month, and today we’re talking about one of the ways MTE puts the cooperative spirit into action: Co-op Days of Service. Joining us today is Jay Sanders, Community Relations Supervisor. Jay is the mastermind behind MTE’s famous Electric Griddle, and his team is all about serving our communities and finding ways to bring Good Energy to Middle Tennessee This year Jay's team coordinated six projects our employees volunteered in for Co-op Days of Service: a Habitat for Humanity home build in Murfreesboro, a Shoes for Souls Partnership that distributed new shoes for students at Johnson Elementary in Franklin, and a partnership with Meals for Hope that culminated in over 27,000 meals being packed and distributed across 4 locations in our 4 county footprint. Jay also coordinates SharingChange, MTE's charitable foundation funded by members who add pennies a month to their monthly electric bills as a donation.
