Each Women Is Her Own Universe-Story Medicine & Wisdom With Kayla Dawn Morin

Kayla Dawn Morin is a woman, mother, space holder, and coach with 10 years of hands-on experience working intimately with women, one-on-one and with their families—through bodywork, birth work, and trauma-healing facilitation. Kayla brings a unique, intuitive approach that blends talking, touch, and an intentional, co-creative container. Following her Journalism degree in Montreal, and after a wild spiritual awakening in Kingston, Jamaica, Kayla settled in Toronto and began supporting children and new families. Her path led her to become a birth & postpartum doula; for five years she attended all kinds of births—at home, in hospital, at the birth center—with midwives, family doctors, and OBs, working with mothers and their loved ones who were yearning for a more natural and grounded way. Immersed in the teachings of birth, mentorship, and holding space for women’s liberation, Kayla found out about Freebirth and knew this was how she would birth her own babies. Fortified by a deep dive into the physiology and mysticism of birth with Whapio of The Matrona, Kayla caught her son in the bathtub of her downtown condo with only herself, babe, and his daddy physically present. Her evolution into motherhood- via a very international postpartum, fully harnessing the potency of matrescence as transformation- further deepened her knowing and awareness of what her work is in this lifetime—and here she is, grateful now to be able to share it with you. Kayla’s company, Women of Earth, is rooted in the truth that we are the earth—we are literally made up of where we live, what we consume, and what we give. It is a call for us to remember the many women who birthed us, that lineage is maternal, and that we all have “traditional” or “land-based” ancestors active within our DNA and in the beyond, guiding us along. Kayla has been closing women’s bones for over 8 years, after learning from multiple teachers in various mentorship settings, including time apprenticing with kee traaa Quichua /midwives in the Andes mountains of Ecuador and deep study in the bell tent on her mentor Sasha Padron’s land in Northern Ontario. She offers La Cerrada Completa, a full-day Closing of the Bones ceremony adapted from Mexican partera Naoli Vinaver’s recipe, as well as In My Creation, her integrative one-on-one bodywork sessions incorporating Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Reiki, intuitive and embodiment-awareness–focused coaching, as well as Closing of the Bones holds with traditional cloth (rebozo). Kayla is a prairie girl at heart—though she was born up north—and has often been nicknamed “Sunshine” for her warmth of spirit. Enhance Your Lived Experience-Birth Stories With Linda Suliman. Traditional Birth Companion Series

Today’s guest is someone whose story is a profound reminder of what women have always known — that birth, intuition, and the body hold a wisdom deeper than anything we’re taught to fear. I’m joined by Linda Suliman, a Canadian mother of two who chose to birth her children through undisturbed, unassisted births in the style of a traditional birth companion — outside the medical system, guided by biology, instinct, and the quiet intelligence of her own body. Linda’s journey into sovereign motherhood unfolded over years and through multiple initiations. She had always been an intuitive health practitioner, blending German New Medicine, emotional release, and body-based healing in her work — long before she ever became a mother. But each pregnancy deepened her trust even more. Her path moved through miscarriage, then the birth of her daughter, then a molar pregnancy, and finally the birth of her son. Each loss, each initiation, pulled her even further away from fear and deeper into her own authority. She chose to step fully out of the traditional medical system — not out of rebellion for rebellion’s sake, but because her body, her intuition, and her lived experience kept showing her a different way. Her births became a portal: a returning to the intelligence of physiology, the sovereignty of the mother, and the truth that women don’t need external permission to trust themselves. Today, Linda supports women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, chronic emotional patterns, and deep nervous system imprints — always through a grounded, biological, intuitive lens. Her ‘I Am Being’ philosophy helps women step out of survival mode, dissolve fear, and reconnect with what their bodies have been holding, so they can return to their power from within. Her work is rebellious but real, spiritual but deeply embodied, and rooted in the belief that the body knows, birth knows, and motherhood is a remembering — not a performance. In our conversation today, we explore her two births, what guided her to leave the medical system entirely, how she navigated fear and intuition, and what it truly means to reclaim your biology, your birth, and your motherhood. Women Just Want To Take Birth Home With Them-Jacqueline Thiessen Traditional Birth Companion Series

Jacqueline Thiessen is a former midwife, doula, holistic facialist, and mother whose path has been anything but conventional. Raised on ranches across B.C., Alberta, and Saskatchewan, and later training and raising horses in the Prairies, her early life was steeped in connection to the land, animals, and birth in its most primal form. She started her own horse training business as a teenager but soon felt a deeper calling. Her journey led her from Las Vegas to the Hopi Reservation, to Afghanistan, and eventually to midwifery school. She trained at a U.S.-based program, spending two years immersed in birth work at a charity birth center in the Philippines, and later served as a midwife for four years in the remote islands of Micronesia. After returning to Canada and completing the Midwifery Bridging Program, she practiced in Ontario until 2022, when she chose to step away from the system to honor her values around bodily autonomy. Shortly after, she gave birth to her son—a moment that felt like a sacred gift from that decision. Now living on a small homestead with her husband, son, and animals, Jacqueline weaves her love of ancestral wisdom, holistic skincare, and hands-on healing into everything she does. Through her work as a doula and her emerging platform The Primal Birth Haven, she advocates for physiological, undisturbed birth and supports women in reconnecting with the primal intelligence of their bodies. I hope you enjoyed the powerful, beautiful weaving of story medicine, experiences, life and death that Jacqueline has shared in this scared space. If you feel called to connect with Jacqueline her email address is below. Blessings, Jacqueline's Email Address: jacquelinethiessen@gmail.com
