    Prescription Radio had the pleasure of interviewing the organisers of the - A Symposium on Caribbean Culture in Australia. The Symposium is called 'Callaloo and Wattleseed'.  Callaloo - being a popular vegetable in the Caribbean.  Wattleseed - is an Acacia and mainstay of Australia earliest inhabitants.  It has been a short time in between episodes, so that is excellent news for our platform.     Trinidad Carnival 2024! Things We Learned with Host DJ Fasmwa ft Evangeline.  This is an excerpt of Prescription Radio, and interview during our weekly radio show on 93.7FM Koori Radio. The show is hosted by DJ Fasmwa, this episode we had guest Evangeline in the studio doing a basic debrief of her experience at Trinidad Carnival 2024!  We spoke we discussed the experience and some advice for people contemplating going to Trinidad Carnival 2024.  We give you the experience from an Australian perspective, which is considerably different from patrons of Carnival that come from North America to Europe. So Take a listen, we hope you enjoy this episode.    Evangeline, is an avid Carnival goer, she first attended Trinidad Carnival in 2023! The year of Hard Fete! She had such an eye opening experience, fun and more, all whilst having specific dietary requirements and not consuming alcohol.  DJ Fasmwa host of Prescription Radio and Prescription Night Club, DJ Fasmwa has been attending Carnival since 2010, inspired as a child, growing up in the Caribbean community in Sydney during the 1990's among some very inspirational musicians, he learnt and understood the traditions and the passion that these music men were teaching, disseminating and or talking about. Without the internet picturing the Iron being played, picturing the 100's of Steel pans, 8 hours shifts of beating the Iron on the road for Monday and Tuesday! I mean WOW! In addition the tradition of the Steel Pan!
