    S4 - EP 13 - THE "SERIOUS MIND" OF DONALD PEE-WEE GASKINS

Welcome to Season 4 – Episode 13! In this episode, we travel to the backroads and coastal highways of South Carolina to dissect the staggering, chaotic crimes of Donald "Pee Wee" Gaskins. Standing at just 5'3", Gaskins was underestimated, yet he operated under a monstrous, self-styled philosophy he called his "Serious Mind" to become one of the most prolific serial killers in American history. Gaskins defied standard criminal profiling by splitting his horrific career into distinct categories: from the impulsive "coastal killings" of hitchhikers and strangers to the calculated executions of people within his own social circle. But his reign of terror didn't stop behind bars.  His story is a chilling exploration of a severe inferiority complex transformed into a toxic obsession with absolute control. This episode discusses severe psychological manipulation, torture, and graphic violence. Listener discretion is heavily advised. The poison for this episode is the Palmetto. If you want to drink with me, you’ll need aged rum, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters. Palmetto 2 oz Aged Rum1 oz Sweet Vermouth2 dashes Orange BittersOrange twist for garnishIn a mixing glass, combine the aged rum, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters with ice. Stir well until perfectly chilled. Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass, express the oils of an orange twist over the drink, and drop it in. Enjoy! S4 - EP 12 - LAWRENCE E. KING JR. & THE FRANKLIN SCANDAL - PART 2

Welcome to Season 4, Episode 12 - PART 2 We're back for part two!  Part Two follows the fallout of the missing $40 million from the Franklin Community Federal Credit Union and the investigation into Lawrence E. King Jr. as allegations of abuse and exploitation, involving vulnerable youth, begin to surface. While these claims were documented in testimony and hearings, they were never proven in court and remain heavily disputed.  As investigator Gary Caradori gathered key witness accounts, his sudden death in a plane crash (and the disappearance of critical evidence) only deepened the mystery. Ultimately, grand juries dismissed the allegations as a hoax, leaving behind a case defined by unanswered questions, conflicting narratives, and lasting controversy.  The poison for this episode is the Vixen. 1 1/2 ounces reposado tequila1 ounce Lustau Fino Jarana sherry3/4 ounce Champagne corn cob syrup*Garnish: lemon twistCombine all ingredients in a rocks glass filled with ice and stir thoroughly until well-chilled, finishing the drink with a fresh lemon twist garnish. We’re digging into the case that turned Omaha into the epicenter of a political and social nightmare: The Franklin Scandal. We’re looking at the $40 million collapse of a credit union and the man at the center of the storm - Lawrence E. King Jr. Was he just a high-society fraudster, or was he the gatekeeper to a pedophile ring reaching the highest levels of the American elite? We’re peeling back the layers of John DeCamp’s allegations, the "Satanic Panic" that blurred the lines of the investigation, and the haunting question of whether justice was served or if the system just closed ranks to protect its own. S4 - EP 11 - THE ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS

Welcome to Season 4, Episode 11. We’re back in murder land. We’re digging into one of the most heartbreaking and controversial chapters in true crime history: The Atlanta Child Murders. We’re looking at the victims the world almost forgot and the man the system was desperate to pin it on - Wayne Williams. Was he a prolific predator, or a convenient scapegoat for a city on the brink of a race war? We’re peeling back the layers of a botched investigation, the FBI’s involvement, and why these cases are still being talked about decades later. The poison for this episode is the Strawberry Lemon Drop. 2 oz Vodka1 oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice¾ oz Simple syrup2-3 Large, ripe strawberries Splash of Cointreau or Triple SecSugar for the rimMuddle two or three fresh strawberries in a shaker until pulverized, then add premium vodka, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and a splash of Cointreau with plenty of ice. S4 - EP 10 - THE UNITED STATES OF BLACKMAIL VOL 2 - PART 2

Welcome to Season 4, Episode 10, Part 2. We’re back in it. In the final chapter of our dive into Whitney Webb’s One Nation Under Blackmail Vol 2., we move out of the smoky backrooms of the 20th-century mob and into the high-tech, high-def world of the modern technocracy. Volume 2, Part 2 is about the digital harvest. We’re picking up right where the "stray cats" met - Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. This isn't just a story about a "creep" and his girlfriend; it’s a breakdown of the infrastructure that made them untouchable. We’re talking about the transition from physical polaroids in a safe to "algorithms in the cloud." The poison for this episode is the Amaretto Sour. 2 oz amaretto (like Disaronno)1 oz fresh lemon juice½ oz simple syrup (optional, depending on how sweet you like it)1 egg white (optional)IceCherry or orange slice if you’re feeling fancyAdd amaretto, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using) into a shaker without ice.  Shake it hard - this is a“dry shake” to get that foam right. Add ice, then shake again until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Enjoy! S4 - EP 10 - THE UNITED STATES OF BLACKMAIL VOL 2 - PART 1

Welcome to Season 4, Episode 10. We’re back in it. In this episode, we continue the conversation started in Volume 1, this time diving into “One Nation Under Blackmail: Volume 2” by Whitney Webb. If Volume 1 taught us anything, it’s this: the system was designed this way.  Volume 2 drops us directly into the rise of Jeffrey Epstein. Not just the headline version of Epstein or the crimes we already know. But the infrastructure around him. Epstein didn’t come out of nowhere. This episode focuses on the machinery: who built him, backed him and what purpose he actually served. The poison for this episode is the Amaretto Sour. S4 - EP 9 - THE PIED PIPER OF HOUSTON - DEAN CORLL

Welcome to Season 4 – Episode 9! In this episode, we descend into the suburbs of 1970s Houston to examine the case of Dean Corll, a man the world remembers as “The Candy Man,” but whose neighborhood knew as "The Pied Piper". Behind the friendly persona was one of the most prolific serial killers in American history. Corll groomed and manipulated teenage boys, ultimately recruiting two of them - David Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley Jr. - to help lure victims to his apartment. Corll orchestrated what was, at the time, the deadliest serial murder case in American history. His story is a haunting look at how easily a predator can blend into the fabric of a neighborhood and how a system’s indifference toward "runaway" children can provide a monster with a three-year head start. This is a case study in grooming, systemic failure, and the ultimate betrayal of innocence. This episode discusses sexual abuse, coercion, and violence against minors. Listener discretion advised. The poison for this episode is Salted Caramel Old Fashioned. If you want to drink with me, you’ll need bourbon, salted caramel syrup, and black walnut bitters. Salted Caramel Old Fashioned: 2 oz Bourbon½ oz Salted Caramel Syrup2 dashes Black Walnut BittersPinch of sea saltIn a mixing glass, stir the bourbon, syrup, and bitters with ice until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with a thin slice of green apple or a piece of hard caramel candy.  Enjoy! S4 - EP 8 - THE UNITED STATES OF BLACKMAIL - PART 2

Welcome to Season 4 – Episode 8 - PART 2! In Part 2, we move from smoky back rooms to boardrooms with better lighting. If Part 1 built the foundation - Prohibition money, mob logistics, compromised officials - Part 2 shows what happens when the underworld goes corporate. The old guard dies off, but the infrastructure evolves. Drawing exclusively from Whitney Webb’s One Nation Under Blackmail (Vol. 1), this episode explores how blackmail, intelligence operations, private banking networks, political fixers, and “respectable” institutions converged in the 1970s–1990s to form something far more durable than a crime ring: a system. We discuss the evolution of the “favor bank”, how leverage replaced cash as the ultimate currency and how power adapts when exposed. When one front man falls, another steps in. When a bank collapses, the assets migrate. And when chaos looks random, it isn’t. The thesis remains the same: blackmail isn’t the scandal. It’s the infrastructure. The poison for this episode is the Hemingway Daiquiri. Hemingway Daiquiri: 2 ounces light rum1/2 ounce maraschino liqueur1/2 ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice1/4 ounce simple syrupLime wheel, for garnishAdd the rum, maraschino liqueur, lime juice and grapefruit juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
