We're a bunch of musicians/music nerds with decades of experience looking to share our song picks across genres and time periods with you. The catch? Every song must have under 10 million listens on Spotify or YouTube at the time of recording. Join Laz, Fishy, Billy and countless guests as we explore obscure music together and find a little bit of something for everyone to listen to. We look forward to coming up with a blend that's right for you and have some laughs along the way! Thanks, I'm Elmo: New Music #23

Sorry for the long delay again but it's been a crazy couple weeks. We all went to my aunt's funeral last week and definitely had to take some time off for that. Rest assured, new episodes are locked and loaded and on the way imminently. But in the meantime, check out this New Music episode recorded on July 7th and enjoy Laz and Billy as always talking about some new hits that are out right now as well as a few tangents and asides that are mostly music related. We had a blast and hope you do too. Happy to be back in the swing of tackling new music especially since these episodes are a completely different vibe from the normal full length episodes. Take a sip and put on your smoking sunglasses for this one. Contact us at musicsmoothiepodcast@gmail.com for business inquiries or to ask Billy his favorite color.

The Pork and Sludge Smoothie With Crushed Walnuts On Top

This is a Remixed and Remastered episode originally released August 24th, 2023. I've been wanting to get this one back up especially since Billy and I saw The Toxhards in concert a couple weeks back because of course the title of the episode was inspired by a track featured on this one, Aengus, The Prize-Winning Hog. First Toxhards song I ever heard and immediately fell in love with and had to bring way back then. Enjoy! Contact us at musicsmoothiepodcast@gmail.com. Original episode text below. Enjoy our most abysmal attraction of mystery and delight, The Pork and Sludge Smoothie. It's certain to accost all senses and cause neighbors to commit arson, enjoy this controversial blend while it's still on the market. Featuring a cast of Laz, Billy and Fishy.

Smoothie Classic: Episode 2 "Fun With Rawb"

Join some of the old gang for some silly antics and deep cuts. Believe me, this episode is almost fifteen years old and all of the songs on it are still well under our current metric threshold of ten million listens on Spotify. I waited a bit to edit and release this one because it contains a fair amount of trauma for me. Not because I edited it or anything, GS usually edited the episodes around this era of the podcast but he was unavailable for this one. It's because of the reason I wasn't able to attend. This one was recorded and released in June of 2012, when my Granny died. I miss her so much still and always will. I love you, Granny. Featuring a cast of Coin, Rawb (His first episode) and GS. Jackie? (New Music #22)

Quick! Name five things that aren't Jackie Chan. AlmondsTrout Mask ReplicaSalisbury, EnglandJackie Chan Of course, he always prevails. Check out our latest New Music episode! Our first one since last year. A ton of interesting music and discussions on this one, compressed into just an hour. All previous New Music episodes will be remastered and reuploaded in a staggered manner similar to the Smoothie Classic episodes starting soon. As usual, listen to Laz and Billy break down a few new music tracks for your enjoyment. Or dismay. If there's any confusion about the timeline on this one, we recorded it last Friday. I try to get the New Music episodes out ASAP but I've been slammed in the editing room between both podcasts. Contact us at musicsmoothiepodcast@gmail.com

Smoothie Classic: "Episode 3" |The Bran Flakes and Nitroglycerin Smoothie|

Here's another blast from the past, a "Smoothie Classic" from May 2012, recorded not too long after the Led Zeppelin episode I released last week. And yeah, Coin usually just titled the episodes by order of release unless they were themed, hence Episode 3. I thought it needed a neater title more in line with the modern naming convention, so there you go. Have a bowl of cereal and pour it all in the blender, nevermind the subsequent explosion. Featuring a cast of Coin, Zeus (Laz), GS and occasionally Rawb, he pops in a few times. Some of the episodes from this era remain lost, so if you're an oldhead and you have a download, please share! Smoothie Classic: The Led Zeppelin Smoothie (Misty Mountain Blend)

The Music Smoothie is bringing it on home with a Remixed and Remastered version of an episode from the last iteration of this podcast. Been planning on re-releasing some of these older episodes for quite some time. This episode was originally released in August 2012. I admit one of the reasons I started here and not with Coin and Wood's earliest episodes is because I'm not on those. Don't worry, I'll still drop those but I thought this would be a more accessible entrypoint. Yes, I changed a few things including taking out the intro music that is no longer kosher under fair use and swapping in the modern Music Smoothie theme song. No, that didn't exist back then lol. I recorded that intro on October 13th, 2022, right before the latest relaunch of the Music Smoothie, which happened on October 22, 2022. Little history of the podcast, why not. Squeeze the lemon, sure. But don't forget to clean up the juice. Featuring a cast of Coin (The previous host), Zeus (Yep, that's me, Laz), Rawb (The guy in our logo, several people asked me about that) and Alec. Yeah, that's me "singing" the "baby baby do you like it" bit from Misty Mountain Hop which we do talk about later in the episode. I could actually sing it now lol. This was our first ever themed episode, all Led Zeppelin all the time. GS was also on the podcast at the time, he joined at the same time as me, but he unfortunately couldn't make it to this episode. Don't worry, new content is on the way. Working on editing an absolute monster of an episode we recorded on Saturday, it'll be out sometime this week. Enjoy!
