    FROM MOUNT SINAI TO CALVARY: How the Law Leads Sinners to the Gospel

    Whatis the purpose of the Ten Commandments? Are they a ladder we climb to earn our way into Heaven—or arethey a mirror showing us just how desperately we need a Savior? In today’s Sermons in the Park, Rev. Jamie McCaskilllooks at what happened immediately after God gave His Law at MountSinai. There was thunder, lightning, smoke, and the sound of atrumpet—and the people were terrified. 📖 “…when the people saw it, they removed, and stoodafar off.” — Exodus 20:18 Why? Because the Law reveals the holiness of God and the guilt of man. The Ten Commandments don't make us sinners. They show usthe sinners we already are. Just like a mirror reveals the dirt on your face without causingit, God's Law reveals the sin in our hearts. And once we understandour guilt, the Gospel finally makes sense. 📖 “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring usunto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” — Galatians3:24 The Law says: GUILTY. The Gospel says: THERE IS A SAVIOR. The Law shows us the disease. Jesus Christ provides the cure. The Law takes us to Mount Sinai. Grace takes us to Calvary. Jesus Christ took the punishment guilty sinners deserve. He diedon the Cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Throughrepentance and faith in Him, there is forgiveness, mercy, andeverlasting life. Don't run from God when His Law reveals your sin.     Whenthe Stories Don’t Match: Which Book Do We Trust? The Quran tells many of the same stories found centuries earlierin the Bible—but what happens when we put those accounts side byside? In this message, we examine several surprising differences betweenthe Quran and the biblical record, including: • Moses and the daughters of Jethro• Details fromJacob’s story appearing in the Quranic account of Moses•Gideon’s river test appearing in the story of Saul and Goliath•Pharaoh’s daughter versus Pharaoh’s wife finding Moses•Joseph’s bloody coat and Jacob’s reaction• Adam, sin,sacrifice, and the need for atonement• The Passover lamb andthe biblical pattern of blood sacrifice• The Quran’s denialof the crucifixion of Jesus Christ• The claim that theearlier Scriptures were corrupted These aren't presented simply to “win an argument.” They raisean important question: If a later revelation retells earlier biblical storiesdifferently, which account should we trust—and how can we test thatclaim?     YOU KNOW BETTER

    You know what the Bible says. You know what God has told you. But the question is: What are you doing with what you know? James 4:17 says, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” In this message, “You Know Better,” we look at the difference between simply knowing God's Word and actually obeying it. We live in a world overflowing with information, and Christians have more access to sermons, Bible studies, commentaries, and Scripture than perhaps any generation before us. But knowledge without obedience can become dangerous. We'll talk about the conscience, spiritual drift, the little compromises that can slowly lead us away from God, and why biblical accountability is about more than pointing out somebody's failures—it's about helping one another become more like Jesus Christ. Maybe God has already been dealing with you about something.     THE DEFINING MARK OF THE CHRISTIAN

    Whatis the defining mark of a true Christian? Is it church attendance? Baptism? Speaking in tongues? Anemotional experience? Or does the Bible give us something muchdeeper? In 1 Corinthians 2:12–16, the Apostle Paul tells us thatbelievers have received “the Spirit which is of God” and that “wehave the mind of Christ.” In this message, Rev. Jamie McCaskill examines what the Bible saysabout receiving the Holy Spirit, the difference between the Spirit ofGod and the spirit of the world, and how we can know whether the HolySpirit is truly at work in our lives. The evidence of the Holy Spirit isn't merely an experience or anoutward display.
