    In this very special episode, host Andrew was very lucky to be joined once again by thrombectomy expert and friend of SR Times Dr Sanjeev Nayak and former patient of Dr Nayaks, stroke survivor Peter Hooper.  Sanjeev and Peter lead this episode as they discuss thrombectomy and how it saved Peter’s life, having a stroke during the peak of the covid pandemic and partaking in stroke research. Matt suffered a stroke in 2013, after suffering an injury to the nose whilst playing for Northern League Division 1 side Marske United. The stroke would leave Matt with permanent paralysis in his left side and he's lived with cerebral palsy ever since. However, after picking himself back up and teaching himself coordination skills needed for football all over again, Matt got back to playing and was soon picked up by England's cerebral palsy team, who he now captains.
