Get a Life Podcast Ep.180: Joy Nason on Leaving the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church

Joy Nason was born into the Exclusive Brethren, the group that now calls itself the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC), and it shaped every part of her early life, from her friendships and family to the way she saw the world. In her twenties she walked out, and she paid the price every ex-member knows. Her family and friends were cut off from her, and the only community she had ever known closed its doors behind her.She built a life anyway. Joy made a successful career and a future on her own terms, and for years she kept her head down and got on with it. What pulled her back in was the hypocrisy. She was raised being told that government is ordained by God and that Brethren don't vote, so when she learned the Brethren had been giving money to political parties, she couldn't let it go.That's what led her to write Joy and Sorrow (2015), her memoir about growing up inside the group, getting out, and living with the loss of her family. Since then she has kept speaking out about the harm the PBCC's practices do to people and families, and she's become a voice for a lot of ex-members who haven't been able to tell their own stories. She is actively involved in politics and does whatever she can to try and show what this sect is really about. In this episode, Joy talks with us about what life inside was really like, what it cost her to leave, and why she decided the world needed to hear it.Link for insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/n1y1yfd8w4fl5pcohcf4f/45000180.mp4?rlkey=41vwgsf2dz3003p7h3tocxgdg&st=rc42fizr&dl=0To share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meLink to Sign Petition for Maple creek-https://www.change.org/maplecreek-rapidreliefteamLink to Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters video- https://www.youtube.com/live/xORVJaxBYz0?si=Mhg1YSyhoxj_-_trLink to Transcript of that meeting- https://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/parlInfo/download/committees/commjnt/29770/toc_pdf/Electoral%20Matters%20Joint%20Committee_2026_08_21.pdf;fileType=application%2FpdfGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Australia Fights Back against the Lies of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church

Australia is fed up with the secrecy and deceit of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, formerly known as the Exclusive Brethren. For those of us who were once inside, we lived this. We know how they can twist the narrative, bring in the big guns when they’re under scrutiny, and use deep financial pockets to make problems go away or keep people silent. But now, the world is getting a glimpse of what so many of us have been trying to expose for years. This time, the questions are being asked in Parliament, and we can only hope that accountability has finally arrived.Watch Get A Life Podcast Episodes 177, 178 and 179 for the full story and everything that has unfolded.Links to podcasts177- https://youtu.be/dx4fZLcLGcw178- https://youtu.be/wA7FswDHYRA179- https://youtu.be/jI_eisiddfkLinks to aricles-https://archive.is/zLWFyhttps://archive.is/rLIzThttps://archive.is/Z6vbTTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Get A Life Ep.179 Royal Receipts from Insiders/Ex Members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church

Just a few short weeks after Lloyd Grimshaw's sworn testimony to the Government of Australia, and his teetering tower of tall tales has tumbled, swept away by a tidal wave of witnesses and a royal flush of receipts. Lloyd dismissed Michael Bachelard's reports of the PBCC hiring neo-N@zi thugs to stalk and harass Prime Minister Albanese, saying "...it doesn't even meet the threshold of gossip..." and now it has all been publicly and irrefutably proven to be fact. Not only that, but prominent PBCC elder Lester Sharples has gone on public record to admit to his part in the shambles, and Gareth Hales has been exposed as the ringleader of the whole attempted coup. As Bachelard says in today's article, it's not just the public and former members who are outraged - current members, deeply indoctrinated as they are to blindly follow the Hales hegemony, have had enough. At get-a-Life Podcast, the phones and emails have been flooding in, and we bring you now an anthology of letters from current insiders who witnessed the whole 2025 election campaign from INSIDE THE CULT, and have written to us, asking us to make public their deep anger and disappointment with the catastrophic moral failure of their leaders. Furthermore, we read out today's explosive article by Michael Bachelard, and add in some further thoughts from ex- members of the PBCC. Can the Hales regime survive this latest and greatest in a whole series of shocking and grubby scandals? Will there be a ritual slaughter of scapegoats to wash the blood from the Hales' hands? Or will this be the Aberdeen moment when someone has the courage to stand up amidst the filth and stink and cry "Corruption!"Link for Insiders-https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/i2e5p0ha5qr235x8h2rtc/45000-179.mp4?rlkey=nmnhfidvn06rg7yq1cjq93v4v&st=rleduwz7&dl=0Link to SMH article- https://archive.is/zLWFyLink to Sign Petition for Maple creek-https://www.change.org/maplecreek-rapidreliefteamLink to Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters video- https://www.youtube.com/live/xORVJaxBYz0?si=Mhg1YSyhoxj_-_trLink to Transcript of that meeting- https://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/parlInfo/download/committees/commjnt/29770/toc_pdf/Electoral%20Matters%20Joint%20Committee_2026_08_21.pdf;fileType=application%2FpdfTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Get A Life Ep178 "Lloyd, To Whom Shall We go?" The Mysterious Disappearance Of Bruce D. Hales.

In this episode we introduce the Invisible Man of God in the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church: Houdini Hales. His face and voice are broadcast worldwide on the Global Media Stream, familiar to anyone inside the church and to a growing number outside it. He is solid enough to need motorcades and armed bodyguards when he travels, and particular enough to require his dietary needs met to the letter, most of them liquid. He is adored by 55,000 faithful followers, the Taylor Swift of the fundamentalist Christian world. And yet the moment accountability is demanded, he vanishes. Not just Bruce. Every Hales, and with them the entire Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, the family's own magnum opus, wafts away on the breeze and leaves behind a hollow corporate entity that knows nothing, decides nothing and answers for nothing. So who carries the blame for the PBCC's conduct toward Australian democracy? Who are the designated scapegoats?Join Cassie Davis, Peter Hart and Braden Simmons for a penetrating postmortem of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters' interrogation of PBCC spin doctor Lloyd Grimshaw.Link for Insiders- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yd7pSsJyTWZgT0d9GZ4kDN7bspWJhTYE/view?usp=sharingLink to Sign Petition for Maple creek-https://www.change.org/maplecreek-rapidreliefteamLink to Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters video- https://www.youtube.com/live/xORVJaxBYz0?si=Mhg1YSyhoxj_-_trLink to Transcript of that meeting- https://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/parlInfo/download/committees/commjnt/29770/toc_pdf/Electoral%20Matters%20Joint%20Committee_2026_08_21.pdf;fileType=application%2FpdfTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Get A Life Ep.177 UK and GAL Team discuss Lloyds Lies: Plymouth Brethren Christian Church's Interference in the 2025 Australian Election

Lying, crying and denying, Lloyd Grimshaw is dragged before the Federal Government of Australia under threat of subpoena. What a spectacle! What a sensation! Watch as the oily PBCC spin doctor veers from perjury to comedy, in a desperate attempt to avoid admitting the plain, obvious and inevitable facts of the PBCC’s 2025 Election Interference campaign. Finally cornered, the grim-faced Grimshaw has to admit that his public statements denying Plymouth Brethren Christian Church involvement were not referring to the church at all, but only to a tiny “secretariat entity” of the same name – an entity that has no members at all.As this unfolded, the phones at the Get-A Life HQ were running hot with calls from incredulous insiders, ex-members and journalists whose reactions spanned the spectrum from fury to hysteria. Here we bring you the first of a series of podcasts where we unleash some of those emotions and commentary from a whole series of guests, starting with Jill Aebi-Mytton, Gilli and Damian Hastie in the UK and the Get A Life team, Lane, Richard and Cheryl and last but not least, a very famous rodent with large black ears. Get A Life Ep. 176 with Guest Geoff Kernahan- Ex- Plymouth Brethren Christian Church Member

In 1983, Geoff left the Exclusive Brethren, a movement deeply shaped by J.N. Darby’s doctrine of separation and later reinforced under James Taylor Jr. into a system that profoundly impacted family and community life. For decades, this doctrine has divided parents from children, siblings from siblings, and members from the wider world. Its legacy remains evident today in the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, where separation, restricted relationships, and the fear of losing loved ones continue to shape daily life.In this episode, Geoff shares how these beliefs influenced his life, the cost of leaving, and the lasting effects of anxiety, trauma, identity loss, and grief experienced by many who leave and those who remain. To better understand the origins and development of the doctrine of separation that shaped Geoff’s experience, listeners are invited to join the UK team where Geoff explores its history, impact, and continuing influence in greater depth.Link for insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qcxv0c84eui31rha8gu1d/45000-176.mp4?rlkey=k1y6j4ggguvz4jsizkgp2c15w&st=veswsiow&dl=0To share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

Lady Whistleblown Brethren Dispatch Issue No. 11: The Truth Behind The OSG Teacher's Silence

For years, people have asked the same question: Where were the teachers the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church hired? Issue No. 11 of Lady Whistleblown's Brethren Dispatch explores why so many remained silent. Through documents, correspondence, and the voices of teachers themselves, this issue uncovers the deception, fear, and emotional burden that kept many from speaking out and why the truth is only now beginning to emerge. Many OneSchool Global teachers witnessed far more than anyone realized, yet believed their contracts bound them to silence. As more teachers see what is being exposed, they are finding the courage to come forward, report their concerns to the authorities, and demand meaningful change.#PBCC #PlymouthBrethrenChristianChurch #ExclusiveBrethren #RapidReliefTeam #BruceHales #oneschoolglobal
