What Grows Here: Breaking Ground | October 4, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Erica Lara We continue “What Grows Here” by asking what it looks like to faithfully break ground when we cannot control what grows. In Mark 4, Jesus tells the story of a farmer who goes out and scatters seed. Some lands on the path, some on rocky ground, some among thorns, and some on good soil. The farmer cannot control where every seed lands or what happens beneath the surface. His responsibility is simpler: go out and sow. This teaching sits with what it means to become faithful farmers in our neighborhood. To show up, sow generously, and trust God with the soil. Because we are not responsible for producing the harvest. We are called to trust the process, practice patience, and sow with the expectation that God can do far more with the seeds we scatter than we can see.

What Grows Here: Small Things First | September 20, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Macho Lara We continue "What Grows Here" by asking what we do when the thing we're building stalls out halfway. Zechariah 4 puts us inside a stopped project. The exiles came home, laid a foundation, and then work sat quiet for over a decade. Into that discouragement, God shows the prophet a lampstand fed by two olive trees, burning without anyone refilling it by hand. The word attached to that image is the word Zerubbabel needed most: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit." This teaching sits with what it means to keep building when the work looks small and the ending feels far off. Because a slow foundation isn't a sign we've been left alone. It's a sign we're still being watched.

What Grows Here: What We're Rooted In | September 6, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Erica Lara We begin 'What Grows Here' by asking a foundational question before we start talking about growth: What are we actually rooted in? Psalm 1 gives us the picture of a tree planted beside streams of water. Its roots remain connected to what nourishes it, so it bears fruit, does not wither when the season changes, and continues to flourish. This teaching sits with what it means to become people who don’t simply hear God’s Word, but delight in it, meditate on it, and allow it to take root in our lives. And like the roots of redwood trees spreading outward and intertwining with one another, we consider what it means to be rooted in Christ together. Because healthy, sustainable growth isn’t something we manufacture. It grows from lives deeply connected to Jesus, His Word, and one another.

Set the Table: The Meal that Waits | August 30, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Macho Lara We close Set the Table at the table Jesus eagerly desired to share with his disciples before the cross. In Luke 22, Jesus breaks bread with people he knows are still unfinished. Peter will deny him. The others will scatter. And still, Jesus wants them near. He takes the bread and the cup and shows them a grace that is given before it is earned, a welcome that costs the host something. This teaching sits with what happens when that kind of grace begins shaping us. What it means to wait for one another, to make room beyond the people already at our table, and to carry the presence and generosity of Jesus into the ordinary places we already live. Because the grace that reached us was never supposed to stop with us.

Set the Table: The Meal that Started the Church | August 9, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Erica LaraWe continue Set the Table this week, landing on the passage most of us know as the origin story of the church.Acts 2 tells us the believers devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer, and the Lord added to their number daily. It didn't happen in a building. There was no stage, no sound system, no program. It happened around kitchen tables, in homes with open doors. This teaching sits with what made those meals different. What it means for a table to be filled with the Word, filled with expectation, filled with commitment to each other, filled with generosity. What it costs to build community that isn't just proximity but devotion.

Set the Table: Eating With Enemies | August 2, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Macho Lara We continue Set the Table this week, sitting with a line most of us read past on our way to the comfortable parts of Psalm 23. David writes that God prepares a table before him in the presence of his enemies. They haven't left. The conflict isn't resolved. This happens while they're still standing there. This teaching sits with that discomfort. Who we actually call an enemy, what it means to be fed without waiting for the relationship to heal, and what it costs to receive from God before anything gets resolved. Anyone can host. Everyone is welcome.

Set the Table: Who Gets An Invite | July 26, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Erica Lara We continue Set the Table this week, sitting with a moment at a dinner party that made the host uncomfortable. Jesus is a guest at the home of a prominent Pharisee. Mid-meal, he turns to his host and says the quiet part out loud: stop inviting the people who can invite you back. Invite the ones who can't repay you at all. This teaching sits with that guest list. Who gets left off it, who's been waiting on a seat, and what it costs to open the table wider than what's comfortable or familiar. Anyone can host. Everyone is welcome.

Set the Table: Set the Table | July 19, 2026

Teaching: Pastor Macho Lara This week we open Set the Table, a series on hospitality as something already available to anyone rather than a program the church runs. We begin with Abraham at the entrance of his tent, in the heat of the day, doing nothing remarkable, when three strangers appear. He runs before he knows who they are. He offers a morsel of bread and gives a full meal. What starts as an ordinary afternoon becomes the setting where God reaffirms the promise Abraham's entire story depends on. This teaching asks what it looks like to notice the people standing near us and move toward them before we know their whole story, using whatever is actually in our hands. Anyone can host. Everyone is welcome.
