What a Summer of Evangelism Taught a Bible College Student

What does a summer of evangelism teach you that a Bible college classroom can’t?In this episode of The Cancelled Preacher Show, we sit down with David, a Bible college student preparing for the ministry, to talk about his summer serving with Neighborhood Bible Time. After his freshman year of Bible college, David spent the summer traveling to churches across the country, helping conduct evangelistic rallies for children and teenagers and gaining firsthand experience in Christian ministry. We talk about what it was like to go from studying for the ministry to actually doing the work of the ministry—preaching, evangelism, working with local churches, reaching young people with the Gospel, and learning lessons that can only come through hands-on ministry experience.David shares some of the challenges he faced, what surprised him along the way, how the experience affected his approach to ministry, and what he learned about serving God as a young man preparing for full-time Christian service. If you're a Bible college student, young preacher, pastor, youth worker, or Christian considering a call to ministry, this conversation offers a firsthand look at what evangelistic ministry is really like outside the classroom.Topics include:• Bible college and ministry preparation• Neighborhood Bible Time• Summer evangelism• Children's and teen evangelistic rallies• Preaching and sharing the Gospel• Preparing for full-time Christian ministry• Hands-on ministry experience• Lessons for young preachers• Working with local churches• Learning ministry by doing ministrySubscribe to The Cancelled Preacher Show for biblical discussions about preaching, ministry, Christian living, theology, and the issues facing the church today.

Should Christians Put Out a Fleece? What Gideon REALLY Did

Should Christians ask God for signs? What does the Bible really teach about Gideon’s fleece? Many Christians “put out a fleece” when trying to know God’s will—asking God to make something happen as confirmation that they should take a job, move, marry someone, buy a house, or make another important decision. But is that actually what Gideon was doing in Judges 6?In this episode of The Cancelled Preacher Show, Pastor Phil Hudson and Jonathan Hudson examine Gideon’s fleece, biblical signs, dreams and visions, and how Christians should determine the will of God today. Gideon did ask God for a sign—and God answered him twice. But understanding WHY Gideon needed that sign changes the way we should apply this passage. We look at Judges 6, Hebrews 1, 2 Peter 1, and other Scriptures to examine the difference between how God revealed His Word in Bible times and how Christians should seek direction today. Can circumstances be a sign from God? Does an answered prayer prove that God is telling you to make a particular decision? Does God still speak through dreams, visions, supernatural signs, and coincidences? And if Christians shouldn't “put out a fleece,” how should we seek God's will when the Bible doesn't specifically tell us which job to take, house to buy, or decision to make? The answer points us away from subjective experiences and back to the Word of God.Circumstances are not Scripture.Coincidences are not Scripture.Feelings are not Scripture. And a fleece is not Scripture.God has given Christians something better: “a more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19).In this Bible study and discussion, we cover:• What Gideon’s fleece really meant in Judges 6• Why Gideon asked God for a sign• Whether Christians should ask God for signs today• How to know God’s will according to the Bible• Whether circumstances are evidence of God’s leading• Dreams, visions, supernatural experiences, and biblical revelation• Why signs can become subjective and dangerous• How Christians should make difficult decisions• The difference between Gideon’s situation and ours today• Why the Word of God must remain our final authorityGet Pastor Hudson's Books https://www.amazon.com/stores/Phillip-Hudson/author/B0G3RRHP76CHAPTERS00:00 Should Christians Put Out a Fleece?01:05 What Gideon’s Fleece Really Meant02:23 Why Did Gideon Need a Sign?05:01 Does God Still Speak Through Signs, Dreams & Visions?06:53 A “More Sure Word” Than Supernatural Experiences07:11 Can Circumstances Reveal God’s Will?09:55 Why Christians Keep Asking God for Signs12:20 Gideon Was Testing the Messenger, Not God’s Word16:55 Are Supernatural Experiences Always From God?21:16 How Christians Should Know God’s Will TodayIf this episode helped you understand Gideon’s fleece, biblical signs, or how to know the will of God, let us know your thoughts in the comments.Subscribe to The Cancelled Preacher Show for more Bible teaching, Christian apologetics, biblical worldview discussions, and conversations about modern Christianity from the authority of the Word of God.

The Dangerous Lie Christians Have Been Taught To Trust

How do you know you are really saved? Many Christians will say that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone—but when asked how they know they are saved, they begin pointing to their good works, changed life, prayer life, church attendance, repentance, or spiritual performance. In this episode of The Cancelled Preacher Show, Phil and Jonathan Hudson examine one of the most overlooked problems in modern Christianity: putting confidence in the flesh. The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” But if we are saved by faith in Christ, where should our assurance of salvation come from? Should Christians examine their works to prove they are saved, or should their confidence rest in the promises of God?We discuss salvation by grace through faith, assurance of salvation, eternal security, faith vs. works, doubting your salvation, the sinner’s prayer, Baptist traditions, and Paul’s warning in Galatians 3: “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”We also examine how Christians can condemn works-based salvation in other denominations while unknowingly adopting a similar mindset when they look to their own behavior, sincerity, repentance, or spiritual performance for assurance. If the flesh could not save you, why would you trust the flesh to prove that you are saved? This conversation challenges Christians to stop looking inward for assurance and instead put their confidence in Jesus Christ and the Word of God.Topics discussed include:• How to know if you are truly saved• Assurance of salvation according to the Bible• Salvation by faith vs. salvation by works• Can Christians lose their salvation?• Why Christians doubt their salvation• What does it mean to believe on Jesus Christ?• Galatians 3 and confidence in the flesh• Ephesians 2:8–10 and salvation by grace• The sinner’s prayer and Baptist tradition• Good works and the Christian life• Eternal security and the promises of God• Why Christians should put no confidence in the fleshCheck out Pastor Hudson's Books - https://www.amazon.com/stores/Phillip-Hudson/author/B0G3RRHP76CHAPTERS0:00 Are Christians Trusting in the Wrong Thing?1:08 The Greatest Problem in Modern Christianity1:31 Why Christians Doubt Their Salvation2:38 Are Baptists Making the Same Mistake?3:35 What Every False Religion Has in Common4:04 Can Christians Put Confidence in the Flesh?5:04 “Are Ye Now Made Perfect by the Flesh?”6:06 How Do You Get Saved?6:58 Why Do Christians Question Their Salvation?7:18 Ephesians 2 — Saved by Grace Through Faith8:13 Faith, the Bible, and God’s Preservation9:37 Are Independent Baptists Going Down the Same Road?11:04 Where Does Assurance of Salvation Come From?12:09 Is Modern “Assurance” Biblical?12:32 Prayer, Tradition, and Vain Repetition13:41 What Changes When a Person Gets Saved?15:14 What the Devil Says When You Doubt Your Salvation16:20 “Have No Confidence in the Flesh”16:47 Galatians 3 — Having Begun in the Spirit17:53 The Sinner’s Prayer vs. Biblical Salvation18:53 What Does It Really Mean to Believe?19:31 What Happens When a Christian Leader Falls?20:09 Faith vs. Works and the Assurance of Salvation20:35 Stop Trying and Start Trusting21:07 Should a Changed Life Prove You’re Saved?22:16 The Flesh Is Deceitful22:36 When Christians Focus on Fallen Preachers23:26 No Confidence in Any Flesh

How Compromise Destroys Christians, Churches, and Nations

How does Christian compromise begin? Why do churches go liberal? How does apostasy happen? In this episode of The Cancelled Preacher, we expose the slippery slope of compromise and show from Scripture how Christians, churches, and even nations rarely abandon truth all at once. Instead, it happens through one small compromise, one subtle shift in authority, and one step away from God's Word at a time.Using biblical examples like Solomon, Lot, Judas, and Eli, we examine how compromise begins long before the visible fall. We also discuss why truth must always remain our authority, how pride and misplaced sympathy can lead people away from biblical conviction, and why standing firmly on God's Word is more important than ever in today's culture. If you've ever wondered:• Why churches drift from biblical truth• How Christians fall into compromise• What causes apostasy• Why biblical authority matters• How to remain faithful in a changing culture...this episode is for you.Chapters00:00 – The Slippery Slope of Compromise00:54 – How Christians, Churches & Nations Drift02:18 – Solomon, Lot & Judas: Biblical Examples03:49 – "Lest We Should Let Them Slip" (Hebrews 2)05:12 – Modern Examples of the Slippery Slope09:59 – Pride: The Root of Compromise12:08 – Eli and the Danger of Passive Leadership13:50 – When Sympathy Replaces Truth18:49 – Emotions vs. the Authority of Scripture22:30 – The Three Non-Negotiable Pillars of Truth23:27 – Why Biblical Authority Matters25:05 – Christ Is the Truth27:04 – The Church: Pillar and Ground of the Truth29:07 – A Warning to Churches30:16 – America's Greatest Need: RevivalIf this episode encouraged you, be sure to Like, Subscribe, and Share it with someone who desires to stand firmly on the truth of God's Word.#ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTruth #Compromise #Apostasy #KingJamesBible #KJV #Church #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving #TheCancelledPreacher

Creation Doesn't Just Prove God Exists

Does creation simply prove that God exists, or does it reveal something much greater? In this episode of The Cancelled Preacher, we examine Romans 1:20 and ask a fascinating question: Can creation itself reveal the gospel? The Bible says that God's invisible attributes are "clearly seen" through the things He has made. But what does that really mean?Join us as we explore how creation points to:* Jesus Christ as Creator* The existence of the spiritual world* God's eternal power and divine nature* Humanity's accountability before God* The reality of sin and death* Why every person is without excuse* Why only Jesus Christ can saveWe also discuss whether creation alone can lead someone to saving faith, how Genesis 1:1 lays the foundation for the entire Bible, and why Christianity uniquely explains the world around us.Whether you're interested in Christian apologetics, biblical creation, evidence for God, Romans chapter 1, theology, the gospel, Genesis, or defending the Christian faith, this conversation will challenge the way you see the world.📖 Key Scriptures• Romans 1:20• Psalm 19• Genesis 1• John 1• Hebrews 11• Romans 10• Job 38 Get Pastor Hudson's Book www.hudsonauthor.comIf you enjoyed this discussion, please:👍 Like the video💬 Leave a comment sharing your thoughts📢 Share this episode with someone interested in creation, apologetics, or biblical truth.🔔 Subscribe for more Bible studies, theology, Christian worldview discussions, and verse-by-verse teaching from a biblical perspective.Creation and the Gospel | Romans 1 | Christian Apologetics | Evidence for God | Jesus Christ | Biblical Creation | Does Creation Point to Christ?
