Röam App Revolutionizes Canadian Road Trips with Personalized Narration and Community‑Driven Experiences

Welcome to the Back to Business Podcast, where we spotlight Calgary's industry leaders and delve into the heart of entrepreneurialism in our vibrant city! Curtis and Kat Lesperance are the husband-and-wife team behind Röam. The idea sparked on countless drives between Calgary, AB and Invermere, BC, where Katherine’s endless curiosity about the landscape led to conversations, questions, and wonder.  After using an audio tour guide on a couple of vacations in Hawaii, while witnessing how much history and knowledge their children retained while being immersed in the Road to Hana, they began to wonder: why wasn’t there something like this for the roads closer to home? Not simply for big tourist destinations, but for the hidden stops and overlooked histories that make local travel richer. With Curtis’ technical expertise and Katherine’s marketing vision, they set out to build an app for “micro tours,” bite-sized stories, stops, and history you can discover in locations less travelled. Röam was designed for everyday and weekend explorers who want to escape and enjoy nature, make spontaneous stops, and discover beauty in their own backyard.
