Ep 197:   Calm Food Noise: A Wine Story

Food Noise--that relentless chatter suggesting sweet treats when you're not even hungry.   I know that siren call well.   In this week's episode of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast, I take you right into the sneaky way food noise crept up on me, even after years of living pretty peacefully with food. And how a burgeoning habit of a nightly glass of wine threw my calm right out the window—and invited the sugar gremlins in.   If you’ve ever wondered why some days are so much noisier than others, or beat yourself up for “giving in” to something sweet, this episode is for you.   It’s not a morality play. It’s real physiology and the freedom that comes with seeing it all with clear eyes.   After listening, you'll know how to:   Spot the subtle ways food noise creeps in (especially after certain foods or drinks) Understand why wine, sweets, or even a rough night’s sleep can send cravings into overdrive Discover easy tweaks that lower food noise—without willpower, drama, or “never again” rules Find out how tuning into your body (and keeping your eyes wide open) is the most powerful tool you have   There’s enormous relief in knowing your cravings aren’t personal failings. Food noise is modifiable and peace is just 20 minutes away. Ep 196:   Weight Loss Lessons from Mahjong

Confession: I once cheated… at solo mahjong. Yes, alone at my kitchen table, quietly breaking my own rules just to win a little game no one else would ever see.   Sounds silly, right? But the knot in my stomach afterward felt so real. If you’ve ever found yourself eating oreos in a dark pantry, you know what I mean.   That’s exactly where we go in this week’s episode of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast. I get honest (and a little vulnerable) about the lesson I learned and how it relates to weight loss, cravings, and the sneaky ways self-judgment holds us back.   Because it’s not really about the food, it's about what we do when nobody’s watching that has everything to do with how we treat ourselves on this fertility and weight loss journey.   This week, we’re looking at why we sometimes sneak, fudge, or overthink when no one’s looking. We find out:   The surprising parallel between “cheating” at a solo game and sneaking food—plus why the only person it hurts is us   The real reason we sneak food and the truth about urges, discomfort, and the thoughts that drive both (hint: it has nothing to do with willpower)   Why self-judgment after a supposed “mistake” is so much worse than the mistake itself—and how to break that judgment cycle for good   How using tools like the Hunger Scale rewires our brain and lifts the weight of “good food, bad food” thinking   The hardest part isn’t "messing up"—it’s how we talk to ourselves after. Ditch the judgment and you’ll find more pride (and progress) than you expected. We don’t have to eat "perfectly" to lose weight—what matters is the relationship we build with ourselves 💕 Links:   Click the links below to lose weight now, the Weight Loss for Fertility way: Website -  stephaniefeinmd.com   -  Facebook   -  Instagram  -  LinkedIn

Ep 195:  Mental Rehearsal for Supercharged Weight Loss

We can use the power of imagery to lose weight. Sound too good to be true? You're likely an expert at this powerful brain tool already, but not in a way that helps. Worrying is the mental rehearsal of things we don't want. We’re all pros at worrying. But using our brilliant minds to set ourselves up for the habits we want? That’s a little less obvious—and a whole lot more effective than you’ve been told. In this episode of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast, we breakdown mental rehearsal, a science-backed (and honestly delightful) way to make the habits that matter start to feel natural.   By the end of this episode, you’ll be able to: Harness a proven brain trick to make new habits feel almost automatic Paint vivid “mental movies” that sidestep willpower (we’ll practice it together, step by step) Anticipate those inevitable obstacles — and plan for them before they trip you up Use this power-boosted rehearsal to make weight loss feel easy: food routines, dinner prep, and restaurant nights become a snap   Bottom line: imagining success isn’t just positive thinking — it’s real training for your mind and body. Changing habits gets easier (and kinder) when we give ourselves a chance to “practice” first. Let’s use that gentle brain magic to move closer to the life you want, one mental rep at a time. Ep 194: Listen in on my Food Date

I had a Girl Dinner the other night, but it wasn't the good kind 😜   It doesn’t happen often, but when I find myself chasing hunger, I stop, put on my detective hat and go on a Food Date.   Be a fly on the wall in this week's episode of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast as I go through my easy evaluation process (aka Food Date) to find out what happened and what I can learn about myself for next time.   Here’s what that looks like:   ✅ Start with what went right Even on an “off” day, I followed my hunger cues. No beating myself up for being hungrier than usual. After all, hunger is just a message, not a moral shortcoming.   🧐 Get curious—not critical—about what didn’t work Lunch was a patchwork of not-much-protein because my go-to options weren’t stocked (post-trip fridge problems). Dinner? I gambled on a protein bar… it didn’t pay off. Cue the hunger chase.   🩷 Plan a kind, realistic next step Next time I get back from a trip, I’ll make double-sure there’s real-deal protein ready to go (shoutout to Trader Joe’s frozen meals for emergencies). Just a little extra planning can save a whole lotta discomfort. There’s no room for self-criticism at this table. We can turn every food fumble into gentle insight—so much easier to find what works that way. Then weight loss isn't harsh or scary. It's simple and friendly. That's the only way the weight stays off forever. Ep 193: Fertility Foods

What if the secret to boosting fertility wasn't hiding in a rare goji berry or an overpriced superfood powder? We take on "Fertility Foods" in this week's episode of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast and it's for anyone who’s ever gotten overwhelmed about what to eat or caught themselves spiraling after hearing about the “one food” you absolutely must have. We’re busting myths and getting into what really counts when you’re trying to get pregnant. Forget chasing the latest food fads or beating yourself up because your dinner didn’t look like a Pinterest board.   Let’s talk about what matters—and how you can make it work for you, without making yourself crazy.   By the end, you’ll know how to:   Cut through the nutrition noise so you can stop second-guessing every grocery run Borrow the best parts of the Mediterranean and Pro-Fertility diets without feeling deprived (or bored) Use the Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 to decide when organic is worth it—major sanity and wallet saver Get your supplement basics down so you don’t have to play Google doctor Navigate the seafood aisle without a side of mercury anxiety There isn’t a single food with the power to make or break your journey. Instead remember this: whole foods most of the time, kindness always.
