Unsolicited with Emily Blake and Owen Evans is an entertaining addition to my list of favorite podcasts. One needn’t be familiar with the characters, shows, or books referenced because Emily and Owen do such a terrific job of providing background, then taking one along for the ride. I didn’t imagine I’d be interested in listening to a few of the episodes that dealt with characters I had no knowledge of. But I found myself taken in by the conversation and thoughtful considerations of circumstances and individuals discussed. It is evident that Emily and Owen are thoroughly familiar with the fictional characters they’ve chosen as their topics. Their conversations are insightful and they’re not afraid to dig deep, or, upon further consideration, change their views entirely. They have no prefabricated agendas, making their podcasts all the more interesting and entertaining. While their banter is amusing, it’s also thought-provoking. And, I appreciate the evident effort Emily and Owen make to be culturally and socially sensitive. Keep it coming!
