First and foremost, we got official word that Tree Paine knows about our show. We are one step closer to our goal of getting her to join us as a guest. But until then...we attended the opening night of Beyonce's high-anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour in LA, and we talk about it, shedding new light on her brand and forecasting the next few years of her emerging daughter, Blue Ivy. Next, is journalism dead? Officially? Longtime Executive Producer of the Award-Winning news show '60 Minutes', Bill Owens, resigns after a nearly 50-year tenure, citing biased influence from the network. This is one of our show's famed Media Literacy Moments - and this affects you. Next, Nike issued an apology this week following backlash of its billboards at the London Marathon which were deemed to be antisemitic. We look at the brand's apology and discuss if it was even necessary. Lastly, Tyla recently got into her comment section to duke it out with fans over a Coachella outfit. For the first time on We're Still Spinning, we are welcomed by an EXTRA SPECIAL guest, American Journalist Sheila Yasmin Marikar (The New York Times, The New Yorker, etc). PR people and journalists can sometimes get along, and this chaotic episode is proof. We look into the PR crisis that is Disney's live-action remake of Snow White, we introduce improv role play to the show and do a scene of Disney PR calling Rachel Zegler's agent (allegedly and entertainment purposes only), and we pitch a PR plan for the movie's cast. Next, we joined the global group chat around the United States administration's wild misuse of the commercial "encrypted" app, Signal, putting our nation's security at high risk (don't blame Mercury in Retrograde...).     PR PLAN: MEGHAN SUSSEX, GIRL SCOUT COOKIES, HERMES/VERSACE/GUCCI, NEW "TOUCH GRASS" APP

    Recorded 3/13/25 - Sussex is Sussexing. We examine the latest plays in Meghan Markle/Sussex's PR rollout. How many peanut butter pretzels does it take to make you likable? We talk about it, and pitch our ideas for the forthcoming season two of her Netflix series. While in the royal kitchen, we talk about the royal PR mess that is Moms Across America vs. Girl Scout Cookies of America. 'MURICA! Within 5 minutes, we debunk the claims against the cookie company and give a real-time, immersive lesson in "media literacy" - AKA - don't believe everything you read. Nonetheless, the damage has been done. How can the Girl Scouts of America (ginger) snap back from this PR crisis? We pitch a naughty PR plan to retaliate against this news cycle. Next, we check-in on the highly orchestrated Hermes new cycle that started over 1 year ago with a fake (allegedly, entertainment purposes only) anti-trust lawsuit in San Francisco. We clocked this bizarre PR campaign on day 1 (thanks to a very unusual report by the Associated Press) and track it to the current headlines (business model) of Birkin dupes. Speaking of which, Donatella steps down from Versace, and Demna steps up for Gucci. A change of guard usually means trouble, what can these brands do to stay profitable in a climate where people can't buy eggs? We have a PR/product plan for them. Last, but never least, a new app is launching today in the UK. It is called "Touch Grass," and its goal is to force people to unplug from their phones and literally touch grass.     PR PLAN: DISNEY, POPPI SODA, THE AVIATION INDUSTRY, MANGIONE WEBSITE

    (Recorded 2/17/25) - America's Favorite PR team is back with a new episode. Following Disney's DEI cancellation, we take a look at the company's recent removal of the once-apologetic introduction card to its classic vault movies for the portrayal of Indigenous cultures and non-white ethnicities. Was the former intro card performative, or is this a brand evolution? Poppi "soda" also got itself into some hot Apple Cider Vinegar with its recent Super Bowl vending machine stunt. We talk about what went wrong with the brand's crisis communications plan and pitch a better way to use their Super Bowl funds. Next, airplanes are crashing daily. What does this mean for the aviation industry, and what can commercial airlines communicate to consumers amidst the tragic headlines? Lastly, Luigi Mangione took a page from the PR playbook of Justin Baldoni and launched a new website to communicate with his followers. Are websites the new notes app? We talk about it. We recorded this episode before Allison's follow-up statement, which ended up being exactly what we predicted it would be...and then...we circle back to Justin vs. Blake. Part 1 of this saga was our most listened-to episode of 2024. Lastly, we solve the origin of Walmart's Wirkin Bag as part of our ongoing coverage of Hermes and its PR attempts to become profitable again.
