    EP 221: Robocop (1987) w Pete of Good Beer, Bad Movie Night - Month of Action!

    Dead or alive, you're coming with us... on a journey to an alternate Detroit in which a huge corporation, Omni Consumer Products, has purchased the police department and has decided to replace the officers with machines. Talk about science fiction! Peter Weller plays Alex Murphy, a quickly murdered cop who is brought back from the brink of death as a cybernetic law enforcement machine to clean up the streets of Old Detroit in preparation for OCP's master plan, building a new modern city on the ruins called Delta City. Kurtwood Smith plays the gang leader, Ronny Cox (of Cop Rock) plays Dick Jones, the second in command of OCP, and Miguel Ferrer is a coked-up junior executive with designs on Jones' job.     HTSF Ep 83: Ahsoka Part Three: Time to Fly

    In Time to Fly, Sabine restarts her lightsaber training under Ahsoka and Huyang's guidance, but struggles with her inability to use the Force like other Jedi. Hera meets with New Republic Chancellor Mon Mothma and several senators and asks them to send additional forces to Seatos. Her request is denied when a senator accuses Hera of using the threat of Thrawn's return to redirect resources to a futile search for Ezra. Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang arrive at Seatos and discover the Eye of Sion, Morgan's large starship in which the hyperdrive is being installed. Shin Hati and Marrok lead an attack on the Jedi, who are forced to land on Seatos, and Huyang discovers that the Eye of Sion can make surprisingly long and fast hyperspace journeys.     Ep 219: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - RIP Catherine O'Hara

    In the ill-conceived legacy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the afterlife’s favorite chaos agent is summoned back into the Deetz family’s orbit, turning a new generation’s problems into his usual blend of mischief and mild existential hazard. The film leans heavily on nostalgia, sometimes affectionately, sometimes like it misplaced its own personality, while juggling old faces and new ones without always giving either enough room to breathe. Michael Keaton still has the timing and energy that made the original work, but the story around him feels more assembled than inspired. This film marks the great Catherine O'Hara's final big-screen appearance, aside from a voice in The Wild Robot. Morgan Elsbeth pushes forward with her own plans, aided by ominously calm Force-wielders who don’t bother pretending they’re the good guys. It all builds toward a tense clash that makes it clear this hunt for answers is going to be anything but straightforward.     Ep 218: Champagne & Bullets - RIP Wings Hauser

    Champagne and Bullets (also known as GetEven and Road to Revenge) is a chaotic vanity project fever dream where plot takes a backseat to sudden genre shifts, and an unsettling amount of cocaine energy. The story loosely follows personal revenge, police corruption, and justice, but coherence is more of a suggestion than a rule, as if the script were assembled after a long night of questionable decisions involving cocaine, cocktails, cheap beer, and more cocaine. It fully commits to its own unpolished ambition, oscillating between action, melodrama, and accidental comedy, resulting in something that is memorable less for what it says than for how confidently it refuses to behave like a normal film. The late Wings Hauser is featured here in one of his most unhinged performances, delivering his lines like he never looked at the script and just showed up in the midst of a multi-week bender.     Ep 216: Indecent Proposal - RIP Robert Redford

    In Indecent Proposal, a financially strained couple played by Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore accept a million-dollar offer from a wealthy stranger, portrayed by the late Robert Redford, for him to spend one night with Demi. What follows is not the erotic thriller we hoped for and more of a prolonged moral hangover, as money, desire, and resentment unravel the couple’s sense of certainty in increasingly predictable ways. The film aims for a provocative meditation on love and the commodification of humanity, but often settles into glossy melodrama that confuses serious looks with depth. Still, it’s an efficient snapshot of early-’90s tabloid-era “what would you do?” cinema, where the real indecency is how confidently it assumes the answer is worth two hours of runtime. As old tensions resurface and new enemies emerge, the episode leans more on mood and setup than spectacle, laying the groundwork for a story that’s clearly gearing up to get complicated fast.
