The Adventure Paradox

Cat Caldwell Myers

Welcome to the show that empowers you to choose your own adventure in motherhood! Your host, Cat Caldwell Myers, certified coach and CEO of The Adventure Paradox, shares minisodes about her work with animals, children, and podcasting itself. When we aren't dropping minisodes, we deliver life changing interviews with special guests. Each conversation will bring you ever closer to the adventure that is seeking you, inside your soul, regardless of your current circumstances (the paradox).  Many have forgotten that the adventure is NOW - wherever we are, whatever is happening, and whoever we do it with, as much as it is all that we have done and all that we will do.  Animals and nature help us do this, as do connecting with teachers and the principles of adventure. We focus on goals and the realities that often keep us from attaining them, learning to master both in the fullness of "THE Adventure Paradox." Entrepreneurial Mothers, Caretakers and Women who crave elevated relationships and love animals and nature, will especially resonate with our message, community and offerings.  We offer writing and podcasting services to teach professionals how to get in to the top 3% of podcasts, publish a bestseller, find their voice and launch their purpose from anywhere in the world.  Please add our show to your library and share a review screenshot with us for a free gift!

There are moments when things are not working, when effort feels heavy and nothing is clicking. And then something shifts. Not outside of you, but within you. This conversation is a reminder that the adventure is not in forcing results, but in how we choose to show up, especially on the hard days. I sat down with Dave Ribble and Gaye Ribble, partners in life and business, to talk about connection, intuition, and building something meaningful together. Dave, author of The Way of the Conscientious Connector and founder of Standout Mastery, shares how one unexpected moment changed the way he approached networking and business forever. Lisa Bromfield The Adventure Begins When You Finally Listen

Sometimes life does not gently guide us. Sometimes it stops us in our tracks so we can finally listen. Lisa Bromfield shares what it looked like to have a life that seemed successful on the outside but felt deeply misaligned within. After losing her six figure job, she found herself stepping into something unexpected. Through stillness, meditation, and trusting the quiet voice inside, she began to rebuild a life rooted in purpose, joy, and meaning. Lisa is a transformational life guide, author, speaker, Reiki practitioner, and death doula. Her work centers on helping people reconnect with their inner wisdom, move through life transitions, and create a life that feels aligned with who they truly are. We explore forgiveness, self trust, the power of small daily shifts, and how nature and silence can guide us back to ourselves. This conversation is a reminder that what feels like an ending may actually be the beginning of something more true. Takeaways • Daily practices like meditation can open the door to deeper guidance • Losing something can create space for something more aligned • Forgiveness is the first step before true gratitude can be felt • Self limiting beliefs keep us stuck in cycles that do not serve us • Stillness and time in nature help us hear our inner voice more clearly Learn more about Lisa: The M.A.G.I.C. We Need Real Connection More Than Ever

Sometimes the strongest connection happens when we unplug from everything else. In this minisode, I reflect on what I call the “original Wi Fi connection” which is the deep soul connection we feel through horses, nature, prayer, presence, and trusting something greater than ourselves. From losing my phone for an entire day to watching my TEDx talk unexpectedly reach thousands of people, I share honest reflections on mental health, entrepreneurship, grief, healing, and learning to come back to what truly matters.  This episode is a reminder that the adventure is happening right now. In the simple moments. In the hard seasons. In the connection we create with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Fred Bueltmann and the Courage to Choose Connection Over Control

What happens when we stop trying to control and start choosing connection? This episode was originally recorded as part of the Spiritual Horse Seekers Summit (April 7–17), a gathering centered on deepening our relationship with horses and ourselves. While the summit has passed, this conversation stands on its own as a powerful reflection on trust, presence, and a different way of being with horses. In this episode, I sit down with Fred Bueltmann of the Red Horse Center. What began as an unexpected path, moving into a home that came with a horse, grew into a life devoted to healing, leadership, and connection through horses. Fred shares the story of Blackjack, a horse who changed everything. Through that relationship, he was guided toward a way of being rooted in trust, consent, and willingness rather than control. We talk about the quiet, wordless language horses live in, where energy, presence, and honesty shape connection. Through a trauma-informed lens, Fred offers a deeper look at how horses support human healing, while also honoring their own experiences and needs. This conversation invites you to slow down, listen differently, and consider what becomes possible when connection comes first. Takeaways:  Horses invite us into a deeper, wordless awareness Trust and safety are built through presence, not control Healing with horses is shared, not one-sided True connection begins with consent and willingness Horses guide us back to a more honest way of beingWhat might shift if you allowed yourself to listen, not with words, but with your whole being? Don’t Let the Drama Steal the Dream

There’s a moment I’ve been sitting with… where something lands, something you’ve been working toward finally arrives… and instead of everything slowing down, life just keeps going. The dishes are still there. The responsibilities don’t pause. And somewhere in the middle of that, it’s easy to miss it… the fact that you’re actually in the dream. I’ve been feeling into what it means to stay with that moment. To not rush past it. To not let the noise or the mess or even my own mistakes pull me out of it. To come back, take ownership where I need to, and still choose to be here… in what I asked for. Because the truth is, there’s always going to be more. Another step. Another stretch. Another mountain. But this part… this right here… matters too. Dr. Pebbles Turbeville on Healing with Horses and the Future of Human Connection

Somewhere along the way, we forgot how to just be. And yet, in the presence of a horse, that knowing comes back. Not through effort, but through feeling. Through breath. Through connection. In this conversation, I sit down with Dr. Pebbles Turbeville, CEO of the Horses and Humans Research Foundation, and we explore what science is beginning to confirm and what many of us have always felt. Horses help us reconnect to ourselves. From research on cerebral palsy and PTSD to the deeper conversation around horse wellbeing and our role as stewards, this is about more than horses. It is about how we live, how we care, and how we return to what matters. This one feels like a breath. Takeaways: • Horses support healing physically and emotionally • Presence with horses invites calm and awareness • Wellbeing includes both humans and animals • Nature and community are essential, not optional  Where are you being invited to slow down and simply be?
